Fans are often prone to hyperbole, "we are miles off being competitive," "we need a whole squad overhaul," etc etc, but Rugby League is a very unforgiving game, and you don't have to be a long way off the pace to get a proper thrashing. In reality, in elite sport, the margins can be very fine. I'd say Wigan and Saints are a cut above, but there really isn't a huge gap between the rest, and a couple of good additions to a squad, or a couple of slight tactical adjustments, or just getting the players a bit fitter and more organised can make a big difference. I aren't expecting miracles, any sort of progress would be welcome, but I don't think it's at all ridiculous to suggest we could make the playoffs next year if we get things right.

Probably grants and funding available for ground improvements too. Might be a matter of needs must. Think Huddersfield are going in one direction with regards IMG points and expect a threat from York, Bradford and Toulouse in the next year or so. Would secure their SL future if it gave them an extra IMG point or two.
