Quote ="Hullrealist"Hiku is a very good signing but I’m not sure he’s as good as some people are making out. Especially as right now it looks like rovers are focusing on talent rather than what they need
Gildart, Opacic, Hiku, Hall are a great set of centres for a SL side but 4 doesn’t go into 2 does it.
I see Hiku on the wing and they’ll bring another full back in. It’s a lot of cap to put on a player who will be on the wing and out of position.
2025 recruitment will be pivotal for rovers. If they do well recruiting this year and then some how manage to replace Ryan hall, parcell and linnet with like for like quality they will break into top 6 for the foreseeable.
I’m not sure they can though, especially as they’ve not really got a ton of top youth.
Good for rovers thought to have some excitement. I don’t care how good they are as long as we’ll recruit well and aim to compete ourselves'"
Hiku will play full back with Gilart, C Hall and Opacic going for the two centre spots. That’s some healthy quality both in starting and back up centres, it’s inevitable that we’ll get injuries there at some point. Peters will sign a winger for the right hand side, im not sure who though.
We’ve got Jez to replace Parcell, so that’s sorted already. The hardest one to replace will be Ryan Hall, who’s practically impossible to replace. Linnett is quality but think easier to replace than hall.
Rovers youth is a concern, we really do need to do better in that department, but hopefully better facilities will help that in the coming years. We’ve still got a relatively young core of players in practically every position though now. Corey Hall, Lewis, Litten. AJ Wallace looks good for his age. Abdull, King, Batchelor, Storton, Luckley, Minchella have all got a long way to go in terms of playing. If we sign Dupree that will be another top quality youngster in our ranks.
