1. how do we know who has applied for the job. we can't appoint people who haven't applied
2. no chance of getting a NRL coach as we cannot offer a comparable salary to Aus
3. plenty of NRL assistants have done well and won things with other clubs - anderson, mcguire, elliot, even price. tony smith came over here with no head coaching experience

or do you think we should have gone down the Brit route

Sandercock winning record at HKR around 40%. Tony Smith around 18%.

Sandercock is quite a popular assistant coach in the NRL and since returning from England has had spells at Newcastle, Wests, Cronulla and next year at Canterbury with Trent Barrett

One of his relations came to rent next door to us and occasionally he came to visit. Lovely chap.
