He's been loyal for 16 years, as you said played through injury, never heard anything negative about him in the press, great kid, and yet some people still slate him....baffling .....he IMO was the best on the pitch last night, well done rich and thanks for the memories

Last night showed again that when close to full fitness he remains a very good player indeed. Unfortunately you just can't get a full season of a fit Horne anymore and retirement, hopefully in a final blaze of glory, makes sense for all.

To those that think he isn't a Hull FC great, name those half backs that have been better for a sustained period of time with the club. There have been those that have played for Hull that have had better careers and peak performances, but their greatest contributions have been elsewhere - for example Peter Sterling. So if Horne isn't an FC great, who is? You can go back in history as far as you like.

He was very good on Friday night. He was involved in all our tries (and one of the Saints tries), showed genuine pace and quick thinking. If he could play like that every game instead of only one game out of every four we would have enjoyed much more success in recent years.
His field kicking was still poor though; twice in the first half he kicked it dead when it would surely have been easier to find touch.

Thank you Horney it's been a privilege to watch you wear the famous black and white shirt for 16 years , putting your body on the line time and time again . Good luck coach the next Richard Hornes from the under 16's . Again thank you ...... Iakow
