I don't think we can shoulder all of the blame on Mr Ganson. Sure he had a shocker, but everyone on here knows what Ganson is like, so when a game goes down to the wire the chances are he'll give a controversial decision.
Hull went in with a decent 1st half lead due to players individual skill, not team tactics. Once again it was 5 drives and a kick for pretty much most of the game. Saints played simple percentage football from the kickoff in the second half. Nothing fancy - a tactic as old as the hills. When you have so many inexperienced players in the team, its how youre gonna play it.
Hull had no guile to overcome it. A point lost today. We were out-coached.
Quote="Standee"The RFL could quite easily stop the conspiracy theories y simply not letting Ganson referee Saints.
But then they're not exactly an intelligent bunch at times.'"
IIRC the history behind this was that Ganson was the top rated ref at the time Saints were getting to all the finals and so he wasn't getting to ref the big games that his 'status' would normally have guaranteed. He complained about it (I seem to recall he might even have threatened to resign) and the RFL caved. Unlikely they'll go back on that decision now.
