Quote ="Jake the Peg"Who had ever heard of richards and carmont before they came over? Hardly world class signings, plus wigan were reported to want to get rid of richards a couple of seasons back. They're both solid players but I doubt they'd be more than fringe players at most top NRL clubs.
How do you think yeaman and briscoe would go in teh wigan back line? Briscoe in particular is better quality than any of the wigan 3/4's'"
I'd heard of both of them. I never said they were world class signings: as you suggested we were as good as Wigan, I asked who you thought our equivalent players are. You didn't answer. I don't think we have a pair of comparable players. Yet. What Richards and Carmont both are, whether you class them as journeymen or not, are cabable and experienced players who add strength, solidity and an attacking edge. Fringe players at top NRL clubs? Probably. Because NRL > SL.
[iIf your argument was reversed, what difference would a 100+ goal and 20+ try a season winger make to our three-quarters?[/i
Yeaman, on his current form, wouldn't get into Wigans back line. Briscoe
has the potential to be better than any of the Wigan three-quarters. If he stays at Hull I hope his potential is realised. If he went to Wigan I'm sure his potential
would be realised. He'd certainly see more of the ball than he does at the moment; and in attacking positions, not being used first-up in the middle of the field.
