I looked at Easy Jet Liverpool to Barcelona, could get it for about £75 each return inc credit card and priority board. If using Easy jet book car with europcar if flying with ryan air use hertz these are linked direct from their web pages. Get very good discounts I had an Alfa Romeo JTD 2.0 for 2 weeks in Summer for £220 from Europcar. Great for the run up to Perpignan. You do need to show the flight recipt or boarding card or they could charge you full price. Also beware of Spanish car hire companies who seem cheaper but want up to 8€ a day extra because you will take the car across to France.
A good website for Spanish Car hire is Amigo Autos, just google it and I am sure it'll come up.

We flew East Midlands to Barcelona in August, only paid £260 for all 4 of us. We held off hiring the car until quite late on due to a problem we had and I would suggest hiring asap as we watched the prices rise the closer we got to the holiday.

Leeds to Monpellier Fri 14th, back Mon 17th into Leeds for £70 each.

We just go on with hand luggage (so you don't have to pay the additional fees) as you get 10 kilo which is quite alot if just going for the weekend.

New Hotel du Midi is great but looks like prices have gone up a fair bit for next year. Royal is OK and they have a deal at the mo. Both are in a great location right in the centre near the Place de Comedie.

Will Rovers be there at the same time???
