Quote ="pmarrow"I think he has a point TBH, we never supported the team as well as we could of. The atmospheres we have seen this year would not match the 5000 or so who would attend the Boulevard prior to the move and then again that was nothing special.
I think Thorman has had a bad season and can hardly say he was a good signing because he wasn't. However FC must be the only fans that think booing or abusing one of there own players will actually do some good. At times I am embarrassed to be assioicated with such fans. I mean soon as we go down by 6 points in a game we have lost because the minute we are down in a game all our supporters do is get on the back of the players which is adding the preassure they are already under.
Especially with a player like Thorman who was damned if he did and was damned if he didn't. I know they are supposed to be professionals but get real there is only so much abuse a person can take. In all honesty we should never have signed a FB/SO to play scrum half anyway.
Still one person to be happy will be Horne whose managed to have his poor season overshadowed by Thormangate.
The one thing I will say though is we still have had the numbers and attracted crowds that many other clubs could not even attract (even if it is there first season in the play offs).'"
I agree with every word.
Thorman seemed to be made the scapegoat for our poor performances by the boo boys when in reality it could have been one of a number of players getting the grief. Having said that, I won't be shedding any tears over his departure...
