| The club received a number of complaints/comments ( I think they refer to it as "feedback"icon_wink.gif via various mediums, however the statement doesn't really go towards an apology for the over zealous and incorrect actions of "some" of the stewards on Friday night A friend of mines grandkids had there plastic bottles of fruit shoots confiscated upon entry to the ground via the doncaster road turn styles, but when he bumped in to us on the western terrace we were drinking coke from bottles we'd walked in to the ground drinking through the turn styles on the western terrace I do believe it was the stewards that have misinterpreted the rule and not the club trying to enforce a different rule.

In the true spirit of health and safety legislation, I am prepared to take any reasonably practicable steps to mitigate the harm; I'll be conducting a full risk assessment of my flask before I set off to future games and will erect appropriate signage in the area surrounding my imminent flask usage. I will also issue PPE to any individuals in the vicinity at the time of flask opening (pre-match and half time) and will prepare a risk reduction plan and a contingency plan, to cover the possibility of any hot beverage spillage type events.
I am prepared to go to any lengths for a decent brew, but I will not compromise the health and welfare of my fellow spectators, players, ground staff or the general public; safety first - safety second.

The obvious answer surely is to set up a Bren2k exclusion zone. I would think 25 metres in any direction should suffice.

And this is where Health and Safety legislation comes up against the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; I have the capacity to make my own decisions about hot beverage consumption, so your cage would be a deprivation of my liberty - you'd have to apply for authorisation from the local authority to put such restrictions in place and frankly, I think you'd be on shaky ground.
I'll go for the exclusion zone suggested by Hessle Roader; I hate the general public as a rule, so that would suit me down to the ground.

Get your own flask then, and put the necessary work in prior to unleashing it's potential harm on those around you.
I think we've clarified now that a flask of strong tea is a potential death-trap.

| and the stewards were still not letting fans take their own food and drink into the ground at the Doncaster Road turnstiles!
One young lad had his rucksack searched and he had to leave his plastic bottle of Coke and two packets of crisps outside the ground.
Once again, shameful. I'm not sure whether we want fans to watch our games!

| Saw somebody get taken from the ground for refusing to hand over a bottle of juice. Felt disgusted to be honest. The club can't afford to treat fans like this but seems to continue to do its best to rub people up the wrong way.

| Quote There are a number of food and drink concessions around the Stadium but supporters are also permitted to enter the Stadium with their own food and drink. Does this say to you that you can bring plastic bottles into the stadium just not alcohol or glass?? or am I reading it wrong?

| I know this sounds silly, but could it be to do with the bottle tops? Whenever you buy beer in plastic bottles at grounds they keep the tops so it's less effective as a projectile/missile (if you're into that kind of idiotic thing!)

Never had a plastic bottle taken from me at any ground other then at Magic weekend. Had my bag searched many times with no problem.

On a day like today they should not be taking water off people. That's irresponsible.

| I thought this may happen and it did.
I was mad at seeing a pile of confiscated bottles outside the Donny Rd turnstiles (interesting that the Stewards were not searching bags on the West Terrace turnstiles which will lead to frustration at the policy not being applied across all entry points).
The reason they were confiscated was confirmed to me by one of the Senior Stewards. THE BOTTLES WERE NOT SEALED. They were partly drunk and could contain anything inc alcohol. I have no problem with this but please can someone find on the press release from the club the word SEALED or anything suggesting the confiscation of part opened bottles.
Moral of this story OPEN YOUR BOTTLES IN THE GROUND.
Sorry for shouting (using capital letters) but I'm trying to get the message across clearly that the club has not.
Oh and the steward also said that next they were going to get tough with smokers too.

| Would you not be entitled to ask for a receipt for the confiscated items and collect them on the way out. Who gets to keep them? I can't see the stewards throwing good stuff away.
