| Quote ="The Eclipse"I think Rocky Hampshire is under rated, I don’t think there is another fullback in SL who can inject speed into the backline like he can. Some of his touches were brilliant.
On a different note does anyone know when Batchelor is back ?'"
Couldn’t agree more on the Hampshire point, his sudden injection of speed when joining the line is great and causes all sorts of problems for the defensive line. He looks so composed and gives us that extra pivot each side of the ruck. I’d be getting him signed up on a longer deal if he’s happy at fullback.
Another point is that the introduction of Woody for the last 20 really turned the game. Thought he was exceptional. He can really damage teams at that stage. The quicker Randall is back the better.

Woody had his best game of the season . No coincidence to me that he did not play the full 80. He's far better off the bench

| Just noticed we outscored them try wise 6-5, as people have said the first half killed us, Warrington were clinical and punished us.
I did think for a second when Mamo knocked on at the end it’d hit a Warrington player in an offside position. All ifs and buts I guess.
A lot of positives to take from that second half performance.

| Bang on re Hampshire, he has it all and should be playing in the half backs, Miller was poor again last night, going missing again for much of game. We need Hampshire with his hands on the ball as much as possible, he should also be first choice goal kicker. Next match I would play Brough and Hampshire at 6&7 and Jowitt at full back.

| Massive credit to the lads for a marvellous second half effort with Big Dave once again in the forefront:love the way he dismissively swats away tacklers.A mention too for Broughy. He's got his detractors but I feel we are a better, more rounded side with him in: he gives us more options and the way he created the gap for one of the tries was sublime.I think we would have beaten them without last weeks injuries so overall it bodes really well.Inevitably there has to be criticism in a game like that, and I know it's stating the bleeding obvious, but we need to match fire with fire at the kickoff, unless,of course, we just couldn't live with them.
Must also agree with Kettykat re Wire offloads. We
need to address this problem pronto, cos Cooper especially, seemed to get shut in every single tackle.

Thought Miller was fantastic in that second half last night, he seemed to create a lot of space with the ball and had a lot of involvement in most of the good things we did going forward so we were obviously watching different games? If anything Brough was the poor half in last nights game he threw the ball to ground about 4 times, his kicking wasnt the best but I still saw the value in what he brought a lot of value to us in that second half. Not too sure what the issue is with singling Milky out, I thought Hampshire played well at Fullback and I think he is becoming more and more comfortable at number 1.

| Quote ="wrencat1873"A strange feeling after that one. Boy, was that last 15 minutes exciting, wow.
Warrington's line speed and exploiting our left edge got them well on top and we looked like being on the wrong end of 50 points.
Bur, the comeback was magnificent and Wire were left clinging on, desperate for the hooter.
With Brough controlling the game and Hampshire posing more questions that an edition of Mastermind, plus Big Dave causing mayhem, we looked to be heading for golden point.
There's so much to take from that loss that it bodes well for the run up to Easter and hopefully we can be right up there challenging for a play off spot.
Great entertainment and a massive display of guts and determination from the boys. Bring on Salford !'"
Thought Hampshire and Wood outshone Brough, who threw three or four passes on the floor.
Great come by Trin, look forward to the rematches later in the season.

I disagree, Musson. I thought Milky was anonymous for a lot of the match as compared to his recent games, and him giving away silly penalties in the first half gave Wire two of their tries.

| The problem with Rocky at half back is with ball in hand he kills everyone’s space by either being too bloody quick and moving into the runners line or hanging on to the ball too long.
I think that’s why Wigan put him in at full back - it suits his strengths perfectly. Hopefully now he is a bit older he can see this, didn’t he fall out with the Wigan establishment over it - he wanted to play half back?

| Always a pleasure going to your place. Last night's game was great for the TV audience and hats off to Wakey for their part in the spectacle. You'll be in the play-offs.
Not seen too much in this thread about Thaler and his part in the comeback. Perhaps one of you could pop round his house and get his thoughts?
Anyway, congrats on the ground news, I hope the charm of the place is retained as you redevelop.

Honestly ?
Didn't think the ref had a bad game, there were plenty of wins and losses for both sides, Wires penalties conceded were mostly justified as were most of Wakeys.
There were calls made against incidents where points were scored but it was a vid ref game, If Thaler wants to favour one team ahead of another he A. doesn't ask the vid ref or B. doesn't favour a team in front of Sky cameras.
In any case, in the context of the game Wire getting an odd score chalked off shouldn't see them scrape a 2 point win after being 22 points up, if they play like they did in the 1st half, it doesn't amount to a hill of beans.
I mean you can go through the game analyzing every incident and make a case contrary to the ref if you want, but I'd be more worried that Wires 1st halves are writing cheques their 2nd halves can't cash.
The idea that Wakey did nothing but accept penalties in staging a recovery is a bit tight as is the idea that Wire were not at all forced in to conceding them.
Don't come to Wakey and expect to just walk it, be happy you got the 2, and that you have the opportunity to put right your failures for next week...

| There are too many things going on for the blame to only rest with the officials.
Wire played dumb at times and Wakefield were irresistible at the end but Thaler was hideous throughout.

I tipped you guys to be in the tip 3 and Wigan to be relegation candidates.

| Dear ffof
They aren't mutually exclusive. He was poop all night and he got you back in the game. Watch it again.
It's the same as saying that in the last 20, we were poor and you, having nothing to lose, were good. It doesn't have to be one or the other.
I may be less harsh about the officials once they've explained why our two Mamo tries were ruled out. Especially the first one, I can understand the second because I don't think Thaler was watching.
Anyway, no matter, let's look forward to another exciting game in June and I hope the Friday night M62 is kind to you

| Not sure how to feel about that - it's all well and good celebrating a brave comeback, but it means absolutely nothing when you don't get the points.
Credit is due - looked like a cricket score in the first 20, which was perhaps down to the enforced changes being a bit rabbit in the headlights down one side - but to once again get so close to a win against one of the top sides, but miss by a whisker, is frustrating to say the least.
I guess what you take from that is that we shouldn't fear any of the top sides - with a bit of resolve and organisation, we can *almost* match any of them; the trick is to move the almost to an actual.
