The poor season ticket sales show we are already losing a lot of support. If it will sort the club out then he should be sold now whilst his stock is at its highest, end of. Can we afford not to and let this drag on and on?

It's a sad state of affairs though and those who put us here seem to have walked away from it quite nicely. I take it West Yorkshire Windows will be renewing there lucrative sponsorships packages at the going market rates this coming season.......

I think MC will fight tooth and nail to keep him. He knows for many supporters he is our talisman. A local lad. Selling him would be done with a heavy heart.

If all these reliable sources come good Salford will be taking up a second slot in SL.

Danny Kirmond is a top Super League player and IMHO a future England international if he continues to play at the standard he has shown in the last season or so. If Liam Farrell, Brett Ferres and Carl Ablett can play for England then our ginger bearded talisman can! Maybe superstar is an exaggeration but he's a great 100% player and a very good second row that Huddersfield made a big mistake selling.
I hope we keep him but if he is sold then it's a must that a really promising bargain buy replacement comes in at the same time to minimise damage to season ticket sales.

History is littered with occasions of players being released by so called top clubs and players leaving there former club with egg on their faces.......................Kyle Amor,Ryan Atkins,Gareth Carvell,Mike Forshaw all spring to mind.

Kirmond and aiton going we will probably sell another 100 tickets at the most lol. This would be a shame.

If I am honest as much as I like Danny Kirmond as a captain and player if we was offered a good amount for him I would take it, Id rather lose one player rather than a bunch of them especially when we look to have a team which is rumoured to be 'moving clubs'.
I hope he does stay though and I believe he wants to, just hope we can get all this behind us and keep in SL next year. Lets not forget that we're not the only ones who have to prove something most likely the players who we will and have signed will want to prove something to people aswell.

The problem with your statement is that we would not only be losing Kirkmond, we have already lost Smith, Amor, Mariano, Wilkes, Cowling and to this you could possibly add Aiton and Cockayne. I regret that we have lost a bunch of players and cannot lose anymore in fact I think we have gone too far but according to MC we have more to go and some on here think we should add Poore. It is easier to offload players which other than London we are very good at sadly.

I think this meeting thing is a bit of a red herring.

Carter has done something which the rest of cannot and will not... He has mortgaged his and his family's future to keep Trinity going. Good on him for that, I hope it does not ruin him.

However on a personal basis, what I have read and heard, I could not work with him... If we met we would be so far apart we probably would speak a different language... Quite frankly i and he would ind it frustrating and angering... We would come to business from different worlds.

I don't like his strategy, his approach or his style... But he pays the piper, and that gives him the right to call the tune!

I kind of know what you mean; I've long believed that accountants should not be allowed to run businesses - they need normal humans who know the value of things as well as their cost, to act as a buffer between them and everyone else.

Having said that, given the parlous state that WTW is in after a few years under an idealist dreamer and a CEO promoted to the level of his own incompetence, perhaps we need to take our medicine; either way, I'm very grateful to MC for his willingness to step up to the plate.
