You're wrong poptart. This fiasco is down to incompitence by whoever signed up to the deal. Usually the player would pay the agent an agreed percentage over the period of his contract on a monthly basis. Wakefield trinity in this case have agreed to pay the agents fees and the player will receive his salary and not have to pay his fee by the sounds of this it is up to the player to pay his agents wages and I can't believe the club have been persuaded in to doing so on their behalf. Complete madness and another small reason as to why were in the mess that were in.

The only other way the club could have to pay the agent is if they have recruited one to sign players for them (basically an agent acting for the club rather than a player, he can only do one or the other by law ie be a player agent or a club agent). I very much doubt this is the case as probably 90% of players ha van agent nowadays.

All in all it's the fault of the club for agreeing to this and a pretty smart move by the agents that will keep their client extremely happy indeed!

If the club didn't agree to pay the agent then its likely the agent will have directed the player elsewhere.

This to my knowledge this is the truth and the buck stops with Elston AGAIN still lets overlook the mess we are in and pretend its not happening, its for the best.

Hardly! No other club would do this and with deals that were being handed out the players we got wouldn't have commanded their wages at any other club. I'm not slating the players as the vast majority have done a fine job but also quite a few have been over paid for doing so. Once again JE messed up and proved to the doubters they were right and he was out his depth. The club was being run like a shambles but hey ho let's forgive and forget. The players signed will have been laughing their asses off. It's madness

Genuine question here for Mr Carter, at what point do you see the corner being turned. I know this is going to sound very negative but the season ticket sales seem to have fallen on their Harris, as you say people are screaming to be paid, you have the loan from the RFL which I am guessing will be just a sub on next years sky money, your coming into the most barron 4 months of the year and that is just the things I can think of off the top of my head so when and how do you see the upturn comeing.

I would say that this is the sort of question that MC would not like to answer/ get drawn into on a forum.

Damn I'v been rummbled, seriousley though I would as I am sure many others would like to know where he sees the upturn coming from. Because in all fairness to the guy he must see a future somewhere or why else would he have put his home on the line, obviously I have no idea of the day to day running of your club but as an outsider looking in I dont see any sort of silver lineing any time soon.

Plenty of future at Wakefield new stadium, actively seeking new investment and sponsorship still plenty of time to shift them season tickets snd plenty of twists and turns no doubt in store for our great club. Just to clarify some agents really do look out for the best interest of the players, we are not all 'parasites' although I do agree some act in such a way that the name would fit.

There are 2 types of agents ones that clubs hire to find players and then pay directly, others that are paid by the players, you need to remember no one puts a gun to a players head to have an agent and its a legitimate business regulated by the RFL.

Our agency is a little different and this part of the reason that we got into it, We charge by far the lowest percentage we offer discounted services for our guys through our partners which we have worked very hard to source, and we also offer a route into further education/apprenticeships for young lads being released by Superleague clubs, because once its known they wont make it they are generally chucked onto the scrap heap.

We are in this to make a little bit of money of course but also to make a difference, so please don't tar us all with the same brush.
