I very much doubt we have an unlimited time to use the stadium until we find a new one, if we have got a time-frame we could use it for, we would have to pay rent which would reduce wages we wouldnt be in Sl low crowds etc could become anothe r Wakey RU . Who'd pay for repairs etc,
Its either get a stadium and survive dont and d** imo

yeah your right, ithink we all know without a stadium theres no sl and frankly also your right without sl theres no long term future at belle vue.......oh dear we need a bloody new ground, the nrl fallback thing does not work for us does it?

Full marks for your loyalty but if you were in the lower leagues that would mean presumably that you had been unsuccessful in building a new stadium. With that in mind whose ground would you be playing in bearing in mind that you have now sold your ground for development.

That would leave the club with however much they got for the Jungle (7m or so?) to build a smaller stadium for the lower leagues...probably
But I don't think it'd ever get to that situation, plan A is the new stadium and there is a plan B of doing up the Jungle a bit (which must mean there's a get out clause in the sale ) and if both of them fail the final option will be Stanley.

Tbh I thought that you still owned WR till Pyeman put up a link showing that it had been sold for development hence the question to dmw.

The development of The Jungle depends on the licence of C6 Solutions being revoked.
As that has not been done, we will play there until such a time otherwise.

On what planet? I'm sorry, but in this climate you can divide that by 2 - even if you have an agreement in place for it.
This damned recession is causing a lot of clubs a lot of grief, and what really annoys me is the attitude of some of those more fortunate through circumstance and their failure to acknowledge their good fortune - be it through a more helpful local authority or from a sugar daddy or from the presence of a puffball club

As I said above, that money is dependent on the licence being revoked from C6 Solutions.
My guess is that the Council know this hence why we've been given the land. We can borrow £X against it for the stadium, and then repay the money owed when we finally get the money from The Jungle sale.

My guess is the Council have pledged the land to both clubs (trust funds) to raise capital because the council are skint and cannot invest money in all 3 clubs.
This is the problem now for Cas shortfall of funds to start. Wakefield have the funds in place but are behind on planning, The land pledged would still have to be assessed for building etc and a developer found to buy the land for the trusts thats not eassy at the moment IMHO

I know, I know. Hence the 'Chew on this' comment as I knew there would be barely any support for us on the VT.

I thought the land loaned to the trusts was not for sale, it is merely an asset on which to borrow money against, a guarantee if you will. No developer needs to be found.

Half the posters on the VT are of their rockers mate, its like one big trash can, then we have the BITTER ones who will try to undermine anything Wakey, or indeed anything at all in some cases.

Oh don't worry - it does drive me on. I just hope that we would be a little bit more hospicious when we're one of the fortunate ones.

| As daft as it sounds, I prefer them to be all negative towards the stadium, that way when things come to fruition it will make it that much sweeter rubbing their noses in it. Still, there is a poster on the totalRL forums who has found the need to criticise the likelihood that the stadium will be of similar design to the HJ, LSV or the Stobart as opposed to the KC or Galpharm.

We would ALL prefer a nice fully enclosed facility - but most of us understand that the choice between a LSV type facility and nothing is not difficult to make!

I think it stems from a point you raise, the supporters of the fortunate clubs who have benefited from having a football club in the town city perhaps don’t realise the difficulty in getting a stadium off the ground with RL as the primary driver. They then sit in their ivory tower damning others efforts without the slightest thought on how fortunate they were being in the right place at the right time.
Had the Durkar cricket ground complex come off back in the 90’s then Wakefield would have been as equally fortunate, but I wouldn’t then have poored scorn over clubs who do not find themselves in such a favourable position.

I suppose I like most, know that small steps forward are what is needed at this time, and know that you and your fellow workers are doing all they can, and much more than the rest of us!
Maybe after all the downers over the last 10 years we need the result more than most? we think we are not wanted By SL and the other clubs, as to be honest I think cas do,and as soon as this debate rages i think it brings it home how much we love the game and the friends we have and make going to the games. I, for one, know i laugh, shout, swear, sing, and leap up and down more during the season more than I ever would outside it, and long may that continue!
So no pressure mate...but the very best of luck in securing what we all want, any negativity on my part is not about your efforts, its mainly fear of the worst, and what Id lose.
