It was the RFL that took action against Cooke himself for illegally approaching a club whilst being contracted to another and this action was justified as it was proved he did and served a ban for doing so.
So Hull FC have every right to take legal action against Hull KR for entering into discussions with him.
Mind you, as Neil Hudgell said on the matter, earlier on the day it was revealed Rovers had signed Cooke, "It's news to me".

Thats the thing though, There's probably no more in this than Morgan not liking the player/having no plans to play him and the club benefiting from not paying a very large wage to someone sat in the stand.
For all Justin Morgan loves being in the media when push comes to shove he hates being put under any kind of pressure, even by the local 'pussy cat' journalist.
Surely to answer that question openly and honestly would have been better for the club and the fans, instead of standing there in front of the journalist like a spoilt child, refusing to speak. He did exactly the same when he dropped Cooke for the famous ' Where's your Cookie gone' derby !! |
