The effort/attitude put in last night was plain for all to see, and a world away from some of our previous outings .A few rubs of the green for us instead of against us last night and we’d have put one over on them I’m sure .Its also Nice to see the enthusiasm back on their faces ,Arona /Westerman led from the front for me and really took it to Wigan .A Few wobbles at fullback ,To be expected with no game time under his belt ,but overall a massive improvement and more like the trinity we all know that have these performances in them .

Since Walker received his head injury against Bradford he's had very little game time, and looked to me to be lacking in confidence last night in my opinion, with that in mind perhaps that's why he did not play as well as he and the fans would have liked, and maybe some on here should give him the benefit of the doubt and cut him a bit of slack.

Course he does I'd have Max over Walker every time, but that's not the issue with me, Chester picked the team and like it or lump it you have to accept that, and on this occasion he picked Walker end of really, my point and it still stands is the player looked short on confidence maybe because of his lack of game time or his previous head injury, I don't think for one minute he'd be too happy with his contribution but it is what it is, and maybe some fans on here who favour Jowitt are being a bit over critical about Walker's inclusion, lets face it up until Fridays game you could have taken your pick of players to criticise.

Why does Walker not deserve his chance?

1 he’s too slow
2 he offers nothing on attack
3 he offers nothing on defence
4 you can turn a boat round quicker on his returns and shows no urgency
5 you watched on tv against hull kr last year when he caught a few balls and you love him, your big on stats well apart from Chester’s record so-go check him out.

Not sure what you mean by 'his record'. My understanding was that he played for LB at fullback, both in the Championship and SL under Danny Ward. I don't know much about DW, he seems to have a 'good record' and he must know his players and structures etc. Last time I heard about him, there were some on this board who wanted him as WT head-coach. Perhaps DW doesn't know as much as some.

What I do know is that Danny Ward is a far better judge of a player than me (and many others I'm sure); and some want him as the coach of WT, so I wonder who he would have at fullback.

Walkers had one game in I don't know how many & made a bit of a hash out of it & people on here are slagging him off & want the God of fullbacks back (Jowitt) yet they're willing to forgive anything that Jowitt does It's amazing

And if we are unable to sign anyone in the short term, we need to at least go with a settled HB pairing.
A different combination every week means that we will never have a fluent attack (injuries and covid stuff permitting, of course)

He was running off Jordan Abdul at London while here he’s got to pick the bits out of Millers terrible passes and our the poor passing game in general.

Jowitt has a bit more about him, he’s bigger, has more pace and can find his way through the line every now and then. While Hampshire has very good feet and agility coupled with explosive pace and often creates his own breaks.

I said on an earlier post Walker looks like a player who just isn’t working out at Wakefield, no ones fault but sometimes it just doesn’t fit for club and player.

He’d have had Jordan Abdul at 6, that’s what he’d have done, then his full back would be running into the space created by someone with presence and a good passing game.

What did Miller create?

He poked his nose through for a try, that was good, it’s something he’s got in his locker. Otherwise what did he do, flashing your way across the face of the defence doesn’t do anything except steal the space from your wide players.

He’s our go to Half so where’s his deft, clever try creating passing game, wheres his show and go, where’s his astute decision making at the line, where’s his great short and long kicking game, where’s the pass that finds the hole in an opposition defence when we’ve had set after set after set camped on their try line?

Sorry but I’m sure he’s a whole hearted bloke who does his best but there’s no end product in terms of creativity and he’s our First Choice Half Back
