He`s a big lad for a winger, something we`ve not had for a while. He won`t be 23 until September. Nearly 6` 3" tall, weight 16st 7lbs. Can play Fullback, Centre or Wing, reputedly the best player currently in Reserve Grade he is also an accomplished kicker. He currently hold the points in a season record for the Bulldogs reserve grade (previously held by El Masri, one of the men keeping him out of 1st Grade). The Bulldogs website says he has great pace, more than can be said for El Masri. Highly rated by Bulldogs fans, who bemoan the fact that the Salary Cap means he can`t be fitted into the 1st Grade squad. He`ll be on relatively little money so I would hope we could tempt him without breaking the bank.

As it looks like we will lose Atkins, coupled with the fact that I don`t think we`ll see Blanch in a Wakey shirt again I think it would be worth giving him a 1 year contract with an optional extension.

I`ve alerted my relatives down under to dig up any other information they can, hopefully JK will do the same with his contacts.

He cannot be that highly thought of as there kicker and winger El Mazari is rumoured to be retiring this year so they will need a winger and a kicker in the first grade to replace him, yet they are allowing him to leave?

Sorry but this lad has leave well alone written all over him, his game hopefully is more suited to SL, but not the type of player it seems on the surface who should be taking a quota spot at any club.

At 23 and at a club who will soon be in desperate need of a goal kicker and a winger at first team level yet they are allowing him to leave speaks volumes.

I apologise for being passionate about this issue but when you spend 5 years trying to help develop young British talent only to see clubs linked with sub standard Australian players like this i get very annoyed indeed.

Understand where you're coming from - but how many of the Wakey side have got to 23 or even beyond before they have hit their straps at Wakey?

In contrast, there are so many who appear so good at a young age and yet drop off without ever sustaing the form needed for the big league.

The only fiar way to judge is to take each case on it's merit and to back your own judgement. IF our club were to sign him - then so be it - however, for the record, I'm told we have not!

I can see jonh’s point of view, fair enough not all imports who make it in SL are household names and not all NRL stars perform well in SL but the fact is the imports places are becoming very limited (which is a good thing) and only the best available should be finding their way over to these shores. There is no point just filling up the overseas spots just for the sake of it.

agree completely in theory but in practice if we need a player to fill a position, we indentify possible replacements of an equivalent standard, one is british and costs so much whilst the other is overseas and costs less, then what do we do as a club? the money saved can be put towards keeping other players such as snitch etc; we dont have the clout of other teams who spend the full cap, we have to take decisions we see fit to benefit our club and no one else, both in the short term and long term
