| Bump!
I know no-ones in much of a mood for this stuff - but I still have to put a feature together - today (Sunday).
I will scavenge my archives for some old material, but if anyone can spare 5 minutes to help out on this one - it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
Phil

| Visiting sunny barrow and passing the Rhinos at the side of the road sticks in my mind, the instant break out of an old RL chant followed, then our visit to a little pub in the town and drinking it dry before my fellow fans entered the ground and tried to empty that bar, the game at Barrow went as expected and got a tad boring untill a big seagull landed in an offside position, cries of get the seagull onside turn into a song. all in all a great day out and a friendly welcome from our friends at Barrow.
The visit to the Donny semi was procceded by a visit to the Cats bar the friday night before the game and a meet up with someone who i've spoken to many times but never met, turns out this guys not a bad lad even if he can't drink, nice evening with a few beers and some free grub thanks to some fool who got engaged, ended the evening staggering down donny road with a pint in each hand (plastic glass) and trying to have a piddle at the same time, my new friend helped me out by holding my BEER. Walked back home to Ossett and sobered up a bit.
The match day itself saw me having to keep the boss happy and go early to the shopping centre before the game. how sad looking round shops when your heads full of Wembley dreams, anyway hit the Cadburys shop and that kept me happy for a while. Walked around the stadium and decide to go in and get baked in the sun, cracking little ground and one i would welcome in the Wakey district please. The game, well we got it all wrong early and never recovered but the support was top draw and i enjoyed the day, congratulated the Hull fans on the way out and wished them well for the final before returning home to sulk.

| The night before the semi-final , my head full of dreams & potential plans to go to wembley for what would have been the best day of my life.
I hardly sleep get up early full of anticipation and nerves of what would become of the day. We hired out a mini-bus and a few of us met in superbowl car-park to my amazement there are tons of buses and mini-bus (took us 10 mins to find), it soon dawned on me how many people from wakefield was going the atmosphere that we would create. We go on the mini-bus with my family and friends and soon set off. On the coach there was talk of predictions score, first-scorer, mom anything you can imagine.
We arrive in donny, see the stadium my heart beats a little faster, we walk up to the ground and a coach arrives only to be the coach with the wakey players on. A mass of fans surround the coach with a very passionate array of songs which meet the players, I spot some more friends outside the ground again fueling my anticipation for the match.
We enter the ground have a few drinks, and walk to our seats I look around the stadium see the army of wakefield fans, my pride in the club increases.
The players enter the field of play from the loudest chant of wakefield ive ever heard my heart racing at 1000's beats a minute, onto the game and our terrible start results in a loss of hope, not BELIEF a few try's later we enter half time with what I feel is half a chance, whoever scored the next try was the winner imo, and hull duly got that try onto the end of the game the cheerleaders come round with signs spelling out "thankyou for your support" i begin to well up with emotion, with sadness or joy of what are club has achieved to reach this stage" i truely dont know. The hull fans signing the wembley chant, makes me realise my dream is not going to be fulfilled (not yet anyway). The final whistle blows, I begin to feel myself starting to cry my jaw shaking I manage to hold it in.
Walking back to the coach all quiet, and on what felt the longest drive in my life i begin to sulk.
Looking back it was the one of the best and worst days of my life.
I felt so proud of the club and the players, however i was devestated to not go to wembley to see my club perform on the biggest stage.
This expierence has increased my hope, belief and dream of watching my biggest passion Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on the biggest stage at wembley with a mass of supporters lifting the cup.
The Dream goes on.
I hope thats good enough for you
It brought back some almighty memories and once i started writing i just couldnt stop

It was just a little difficult for folk to get into the spirit of the game this week - so we tried a different perspective. Between the 2 I got a feature - so yes, it features games against Leigh, and yes, we did win some!

no our programmes are much more entertaining than mere catalogues of wins against the opposition, for example our huddersfield prog goes in to great detail about how we have built up huge leads over the years and then forgotten how to play rugby league.
my favourite one however is last years leeds programme which was like an old style flick comic which if you ran it from start to finish showed mr klein raising his arm and signalling penalities quite a lot, and ended with a slow motion of john gallagher dropping a high ball.
actually my main memory of leigh games is bloody tim street the hovercraft and there always seeming to be a rta on the road outside!

Make the most of the programme while you can, think it's only a matter of time before you are also subjected to league-wide programme that is effectively a glossy League Express with half of the content and twice the price! Thankfully, Leigh (and Widnes) are the only two clubs in our league to continue producing club programmes, and a fine read they are to.
