I wonder if Ashurst will get any benefit from this streaming?'"
Will probably get the monthly subscription just to watch tomorrow night's game now as I can't go.

| Pretty even first 10 minutes, nothing between the two teams on show
Kendall has his say giving 2 penalties to Wigan allowing them to gain field position and then score wide out on the right wing, Hampshire goaled

| Wakefield building good pressure, camped on the Wigan line and Kendall again awards Wigan a rather dubious penalty for a flop by Pitts which was pedantic in the extreme.

| In fairness to the ref he’s given Trinity a couple of borderline penalty’s now
Atoni has started the game very well with some big drives and solid defence, especially on Mago.
Hes now crashed onto a ball 5 metres out and done really well to get the ball down for a try,
Converted Jowitt
6-6

| Some superb hands from Wakefield on the edges, came right through 5 pairs of hands with everyone just moving the ball on and creating space for JM but the final pass went to ground. Then the same out to the left saw Franco on space before being mob tackled but Wakefield went right again to put JM in clear air to score wide out.
Conversion missed
10-6.

| That backline move was classic Powell and McGillvery showed he's still got plenty left in the tank and showed a clean set of boots to finish the move off.

| Special mention to Bowden and Atoni for their 25 minute spells, both very good, strong hit ups and superb defence. Especially meritable because Wigan have started with a very very strong pack

Wigan don’t like being bullied particularly down the middle

Yeah, I also thought Hood had a good spell as well. LOL Uele has just come on and on the first drive he's hit the ball like a train, hope he can keep him up.
We've got Wigan rattled here, they don't like it up them do they.

| Great vision and break from Griffin after Kendal had penalised Wigan twice who then turned their back on the tap penalty
Wigan a man in the bin for a professional foul after the break and then Walmsley sends out a 25 yard pass to see JM go in at the corner again
Max is lining up the conversion when the lights go out halting the game
Jowitt nails the conversion
16 - 6

| Only a friendly and Wigan missing a full back line, but the signs are promising so far. The team have gelled well, everyone knows their roles. Bowden is a different animal, Lawford looks ready to me, Walmsley did fine at full back and McGillvary will score plenty in the Championship. Let's see what the second half brings.
Someone needs to keep popping change in the meter though.

| Apart from the odd pedantic penalty by the ref we've matched and bettered Wigan in effort and quality on the edges and at times down the middle that first half and it can't be said they haven't had a good side out. It's almost as if Powell's told them to show what they've been working on in pre-season and even though it's a testimonial, play the game like it was the first of the season.
I'm crossing my fingers we don't have a repeat of boxing day, saying that as long as we don't stop playing and keep playing them as if they are our equals and we don't start giving penalties away for fun I'd be surprised if that happened.

| Couple of soft penalties conceded against 12 men leading to field position for Wigan from which Hampshire delivered a pin point kick for Farimond to catch and score under the sticks.
Interesting that those two might find themselves in a Trinity shirt at some point during the season.
Eseh comes off the bench for Wigan
16-12

| Great hands strips Wigans left edge for Franco to make a good break, Trinity force the drop out and then great hands again gets JM in at the corner for a hat trick of try’s on his Trinity home debut

| Lights have gone out again for the umpteenth time and Kendall has ended the game after 60 minutes
Probably the correct decision as it’s a potential danger to the players

| As long as McGillvary can stop on the pitch this season he'll be giving Walmsley a run for money for most tries. He also brings the ball out of defense much more powerfully than Walmsley, who's a bit weak in that area
Whatever the problem with the lights it's ridiculous. I mean they've been up since the season just gone and since then we've had them on for games of football and other things and they'll have had to have been all tested together with the new stand before that could be opened up officially with WMDC approval. It seems strange and as Avenger said, embarrassing for them to go on and off like they did tonight at the official opening of the new stand. I can see them on most nights as i can see the glow from them when out walking the dogs at night, so I haven't a clue what the problem is.
I know one thing though, come the start of the season, the owner will sort it out because he'll think it reflects on him, which it slightly does. but why tonight has it been so bad?

I’m guessing it’s an overloaded circuit somewhere, kept tripping a fuse and having to be reset every-time. It’s probably because the stadium was in full swing for the first time, hospitality, bars, floodlights, everything. The football won’t have tested it like that so haven’t triggered the problem
