| Quote ="Scarlet Pimpernell"Is this what you posted which clearly states that since MC took over we haven’t lost a single contracted star player. I have shown we have but apparently I have lost the argument because I should have known you were referring to a period when he was in control but after the club had offloaded several contracted players to reduce the wage bill. If you had said this then yes you would have been correct but you didn’t so you are wrong, which appears to be a position you find difficult to accept.
I think what you should do is just stop digging because you cannot be correct when the evidence is clear disproving your statement. This was an angle you tried when you said that MC had sacked both Agar and Webster which was also untrue but once again you came back saying that they jumped before they were pushed no they weren’t they resigned but you would not accept this.
If anybody looks to twist the facts to cover up their obvious failings it is you.'"
No the question is what does it matter. This is a forum not a court of law. The general thrust of my argument was that since MC has been in charge we have ceased to be a selling club, so do you or do yo not agree that we no longer sell players to balance the books, yes or no?
Whether it that began in 2013 or 2015 is a petty irrelevance, or it would be for anyone who didn’t seemingly have a personal dislike for MC and let’s be honest you clearly don’t t like the man.
And please don’t use the MC and vastman kissing in a tree argument, I’ve met the man once and you know what, we never talked about player contracts, how odd

| We have definitely stopped been a selling club since mc took over yes in the early days he may of let 1or 2 go ie tim smith but we were in the poop when he first arrived financially and things needed to be done.but even then certain players still stayed ie danny kirmond he could of been sold more than once but he wasnt more recently im sure kelepi dave tommy could of all been sold but they havent.im sure in the future offers will come in for players and i am confident mc will do whats best for the club.
MC at times gets some stick from some fans and while i agree he can be too loyal at times he is very good at what he does amdif i where to win the euromillions id certainly trust him to run the club with the millionsi would put in( i certainly couldnt run it)

| I am not having a go at MC he did what he felt necessary I am just pointing out your error once again trying to make an incorrect statement. The reason you do this is irrelevant but for once try to admit based on your post the fact quoted was not correct.

| If you put Andrew glover leaves Wakefield into google it pretty much tells you he left and Michael was voted in really quick and then he called and emergency meeting inviting fans to understand what’s happened. I was there and he specifically told the fans we had to sell star players otherwise administrators would be calling.

Again does it matter? Seriously?
Even if he didn’t have to get rid of those player for financial reasons letting two players go hardly makes us a ‘selling’ club. Also did we receive a fee for Cockayne?
Scarlett and to a degree yourself are missing the point and getting hung up on tiny details and they are tiny. Though Scarlet is simply doing it to create an argument to further an agenda.
The bald facts are that since roughly 2015 we have not sold or let go any player we wished to keep unless they wanted to leave ie Westerman. To me that is an absolute joy and contrasts totally to all my previous experiences with the club.
MC is a builder, he’s a builder with a cash flow problem but he steadfastly keeps laying those bricks, you have to admire that or at least I do.

I agree in that it certainly derails some threads but you’re wrong on this one. If you read the OP it was about us selling Mason Lino so nobody has gone off topic.
Sorry but you’re wrong on this one, it’s a fair if unpleasant and unnecessary debate. It can’t always be a love in but I’m surprised that after four wins people are still sniping at the club, or maybe I’m not surprised at all.

I genuinely thought the thread started about Lino’s kicking stats, nothing to do with when carter started as chairman etc. Fair do’s a Wigan fan came on saying they are after Lino. Anyways, I’m always wrong at home so nothing will change there!

| We did get a small fee for Ben. If anyone doesn’t like what they read swipe right and do something else. It’s a healthy debate. Am not stating that Michael is a selling chairman just that some of what people have posted is factually wrong. He’s done a decent job and is still learning a lot compared to other chairman that constantly throw money at clubs for little return.

| I am not sniping at the club or MC just your ego. What you like to do is try to give an impression of MC which the facts do not back up, so any viewed criticism is a direct result of your clearly false statements. If you stuck to what is correct then nobody would need to come back and you could leave MC out of the thread.
With regards the post from the Wigan supporter there was nothing wrong he was just quoting a rumour like many do on this forum and on those of the players current club. It was you again with your over the top disgust that they should do this to us, what does it matter he clearly stated it was only a rumour.
With regards Mason when I saw his few games for Newcastle he didn’t look a leader on the field but was clearly an excellent goal kicker. I guess he was behind quite a few who took on that role but at Wakefield he has had to adapt which he is doing.

It’s not my ego and it’s not factual. It was a general comment that MC is not a selling Chairman. So I forgot a couple of players who were sold due to the financial mess left by Glover, big deal.
For reasons best known to yourself you’ve made a mountain out of a very small mole hill.
We are no longer a selling club for now, rejoice.

Still a bit pedantry as it’s clearly not the issue but yes we did sell some players early doors. Now can we accept that we are no longer easy pickings for vulture clubs.

The last kick he missed was against St Helens on 9th July, since then he has kicked 31 consecutive goals.
His record for the season is 67 goals scored, and just 8 missed - a conversion rate of 89.33%
Comparing with the other kickers in the top 6 this season in terms of goals kicked:
Maloney - 88.29%
Martin - 83.52%
Coote - 78.57%
Ratchford - 82.05%
Sneyd - 80%
It's a fantastic achievement

| If I remember right, when Carter took over he sold Amor, Poore, Smith, Cockayne and Aiton. If he hadn’t, we’d have gone into administration and it was made clear to him him that if we did we’d have been kicked out of Super League. Not only did he do the right thing for the club, but the right thing morally as well.
Since then we’ve turned down offers for Kirmond, Johnstone, Fifita, Miller and Tanginoa that we know about. Not only did he steady the ship, he’s sorted the finances that we no longer need to sell players to survive and extended their contracts. Even taking financial side out of it, he’s created an environment where top players want to stay and play at the club rather than move elsewhere. He did what he needed to do and we’re no longer a selling club. Surely we all agree that’s a good thing?

I'm not sure we got a fee for them all but I may be wrong, I think most were released.
