All I can say is if Mariano gets the boot it's Wakefield's loss and another teams gain, maybe Mariano wants out, that's why he isn't applying himself as he should. Maybe it's frustration that he can't hold a 1st team position even though every time he plays he holds his own, if not better.

I think what you are saying is flawed too, it is apparent that RA rates neither FM or VM. However due to the position we are in at the moment he feels VM offers more than FM.

I don't think anyone disagrees that Mariano is ahead of Mellars in preference to keep.
He is behind Kirmond, Ali, Washbrook and now Anakin in my opinion though so that is why he isn't in the first team. Nothing to do with Mellars.
Mellars only got in when he needed to rotate squad.

I understand where you are coming but Kyle Wood could of quite happily took his bat and ball home after not featuring in consecutive games. Difference was he (KW) trained like a spartan, listened to advice and was respective and responsive.

No, if he isn't training properly and is sulking/cutting corners then he should not be playing, even if it meant playing kids in his place. Look what happened to Kyle Amor - dropped when we needed him to keep everyone else in line (and perfectly correct decision IMO).
If he wants to play and prove to Agar that he's wrong then he needs to show the attitude and commitment in training to prove he is worthy of a spot in the team.
We can't afford to allow players to cut corners - we don't have the strength or quality to allow players to see someone who is not committed get away with it.

Mariano isn't a young kid either, he's 26 now and should be a first pick. The fact that he isn't speaks volumes. He has a terrible injury record which may or may not be down to how he prepares and looks after himself but it will likely be a factor. Also throughout his time with us, despite his technique being ok he's had poor defensive stats in that he misses an awful lot of tackles. And they do say defence is about attitude...

Truth is FM looked promising in his first season but has failed to build from that. Had a good run at the end of last season but who didn't. Injury proned, poor trainer and not especially appreciated by his peers is the message I'm getting. Of course I'm not there so I can't be sure but that's the drift I'm getting.

You really need to stop attacking/bulling up individual players and look at the team. Whether Agar gets it right or wrong only time will tell but as a Coach he has to create his team with his kind of players in his kind of set up and that is exactly how it should be. Wouldn't matter if you were right and IMHO you are not if Frankie doesn't give Agar what he wants he must go - ditto anyone else.

Been having a chat with a few people about Molloy and things seem very positive. Seems to have been on the radar of some people who are a very good judge of a player for some time. Injuries have been the problem with his development. You never know we may have just got a good un.

Given the current state of our squad this was a poor signing, with no disrespect to Molloy as I have never seen the lad play, but the back row was the last place we needed to strengthen!
Mariano has the potential to be a quality second row forward and he needs to be out there playing. Mellars is another who for me should continue in the side at Wigan he was one of our best players, and I'm sorry but if someone plays well, particularly against Wigan you keep them in the team!
I believe Agar has dropped a clanger here and looks to be forming a squad of yes men, personalities will always clash, but you cant just drop someone as they wont agree with you.

If you compare the two player's background, they are poles apart. Molloy been at Wigan and Hudds, by the sound of it, has the right attitude. Possibly willing to play for peanuts this year, in the hope of proving himself and getting a contract upgrade for next year. Mariano released by HKR and picked up by us when we were scratching around for players. 6 into 3 spots doesn't work, but as was posted on another thread about the team being 'lazy', got to have good back up with the right attitude to keep starting 3 on their toes. Annakin and Molly must have this and Mariano can't have.

I have no idea what going on with FM, its been suggested he may be lazy or he may be cutting corners.

No idea. Personally think Ellis was about making a point and he was the pawn, but it's just a guess.
