| Quote ="braytontiger"cas panthers went down 38-14 over at east hull,a bit of an unflattering score on us has with 10 to play the score was 20-14 to easts and we were really pushing them hard,a lot of subs were made and we completely lost our shape.
credit to east hull for going until the end and im sure both teams will have been happy with the performance and the workout in a game played in good spirit.
great hospitality from easts and we look forward to meeting next year.
'"
Great summing up Rob - couldn't agree more.
Good having you over and LL last week.
The game was in the melting pot as you say.
Hope you all have a good season and perhaps we with a bit of luck will see you later in the campaign!!!
On behalf of the family of Bert can I thank you all for coming over to East Hull.

| [url=http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/sandalspartans/Sandal Spartans ARLFC[/url is a brand new junior rugby club for Wakefield, born out of a mutual agreement with Stanley Rangers for the former U13's 'A' team to go its own way; we therefore start out with an U13's side, and will be looking to add more age groups as time goes on. Our first season is in the WYJ league 4th division, after the nucleus of the team finished top of Div 5 last season, with 2 games in hand.
We're based at West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club in Sandal and have access to some fantastic facilities, including floodlit 3G training pitches and an outstanding club-house; our Tues & Fri training sessions and home matches will take place there.
We're currently recruiting players (like WTW, we need a big prop!) and crucially, looking to get sponsors in place for the new season; anyone who's interested in either can PM me or the Head Coach, known to RLfans members as The Clan.
Cheers.

great age group mate , be careful not to trip over the players as they swarm around your feet all eager for the next run . i have seen some of the finest memories at 8s players running in wrong direction and scoring in their own try zone, players not stooping and scoring after the dead (about 10 meters) and many others
good luck to both sets of kids

| Y J Under 12s Kick off Saturday may be bias but i think this gonna be the toughest age group and the closest division within the group although i might end up eating my words i think it may end up being 2 division in 1 . but no team will be an easy beat on their own patch. this weeks games in the 12s
these are just the thoughts of one man , not what i want to happen . if i'm wrong I'm wrong its not me wanting a team to win or lose . it would be great for others to challenge my predictions.
=#FF0000Cas Panthers V Shaw Cross / Shaw Cross will be a very health addition to the league IMO but have been drawn to one of the toughest away days you can imagine. Cross will battle and battle and and will probably be in with a shout come half time but the speed of the half backs , fb and a couple of classy pack members will landslide them and be out of sight in the last 5 minutes. Mutts Verdict A comprehensive Cas Victory
=#FF0000Oulton V Stanningley / Big day for one of the biggest armature clubs in the region . in the 8s and 9s oulton always seemed to be almost indestructible then all of a sudden the 2/3 teams vanished from the top table although when they appeared in galas they could still hold their own . well the vikings like widnes are back but unlike the super league counterparts i think they will make a bigger impact and they will start from day 1 . an early lead which will never be given up i go for Oulton victory and suggest oulton will find it hard but make their hame a fortress.
=#FF0000Crigg All Blacks V East Leeds Crigg finished top of a distorted league table year and to be fair some other teams will stake a claim that a uneven number of games were played , true as crigg played less than any other team . east Leeds could stake a claim being the only team in mini winter season to actually score a win over the all blacks as a poor all blacks performance meet up with a sterling east Leeds performance . if both teams play like that again Easts will run away with it , however in the return match crigg won by around 50 so again a repeat of that and a definite crigg win. the Yorkshire cup winners must start as favorites and i can not any further than a all blacks win but a lot closer than the last one.
=#FF0000Castleford Lock Lane V Stanley Rangers (may i first of all apologise for this , my younger lad plays for stanley . i want stanley to win as i think lock lane is a major challenge to crigg)
Last week Stanley hosted the all blacks and were fired up and ready , any one who as watched this age group for any length of time knows that the rangers have quite a few outstanding players . but things just did not go right from the kick off the ball was lost . unfortunately the game was abandoned due to a neck injury about 7 minutes into 2nd half (thankfully hes ok) but the game was at 32-0 with 5 conversions missed and this was a semi-final. i hope that stanley catch up with the pace but its a tough mission to go to lock lane . Biggest score of the day and a rude awaking . i hope im wrong as being bias i want the red and blacks to win after all its cas.
Come on rob have a go

Cheers - we've had a great start; got 19 players registered, formed a committe, designed and orderd a kit, and secured 3 sponsors - all in 72 hours!
Still got a couple of sponsorship opportunities left if any local businesses want to get involved.

A fantastic away win for the Spartans against Lindley Swifts, to kick off the new season; some doubt about the official score, but I had it at 40-16.
A pretty tough first half on a boggy field, but Sandal ran away with it in the second half; 5 tries for Curtis Kaye, who's averaging a try every 12 minutes after 3 games played. A great team performance though, with some lads really lifting their game to another level.

| Vikings lost out 8-24 to stanningley. Really proud of the players, more than matched them in most areas, losing the second half by just 2 points. We'll adjust every week to playing the game at the relentless intensity of division 1, aswell as keeping shape whilst interchanging our 7 subs. Also 2 crash over try's from a near 6 foot 11yr old too, hard to stop.

Congrats to all involved with this set up, its rewarding if rather hard work getting it up and running.
Involved with setting up a youth set up at Gawthorpe many years ago and we had to borrow some school playing fields and showers, its tough but plenty of rewards.

sounds like its gonna be a tough season again and a unpredictable one if the last sentence is true if so i have never been as happy to be wrong . I would like to say i hope you bounce back next week but i will have to postpone that and just say let the better team on the day win . FWIW and without sounding disrespectful to E Leeds i'm sure your lads will put up a better challenge and i would of preferred it if you had won today as a revengeful panthers normally means trouble for the opposition. i would say see you next week but i'm at lock lane with the other one

ok ill give you my opinion on both ourselves and locklane,i firmly believe that both ourselves and locklane players are suffering badly from fatigue, for nearly 8 months now these kids have been playing two games a week and having to train 3 times a week aswell has doing the usual stuff at school.
today all 3 of our best players are non cas high kids and it really is taking its toll, has a coach i know full well something has to give but how do you tell a child they can only do 1 or the other, this has resulted for us in more game time, more injuries aswell has the kids having less energy on a weekend.it really is killing us and i know the locklane coaches arnt happy about it either but what can you do,to add to this it now seems that training at high school has been upped to twice a week so its going to get worse before it gets better.
next week against crigg could well be a very long morning has i believe a lot of our players are feeling rather sorry for themselves, my job is of course to pick them up and get the best out of them.
full credit must also go to stanley and shaw cross for superb victory`s and that must not be forgotten.

and there we are complainng that our school never trains? I proper feel for you and i can figure the 3 players . Kettlethorpe school does not speacilse in any sport so no major input is given but speaking to the head rugby coach he was talling me about the rugby set up in the castleford schools and how they have 2 teams and that it ends up with with good club players not making the b team . and that the coaches puch the rugby more than some academic subjects .this im sure you could confirm but in my opinion its a little to much for 12 year olds who still want to roll down a big hill.
im really pleased stanley won , i still have a soft spot as i know a couple of your parents do and im sure the victory was earned, but it should be a massive wake up call for the all blacks yes you got beat this week but next week is another day and im sure come saturday the lads will be motivated .
i just hope that all this pressure does not wreck players like your lad and some others whom i know pretty well , you did very well players from stanley and you had others .
anyways . good luck . but not score wise until the week after

Return to the top flight?? We've never been here and only 2 1/2 years ago were playing in group 4, so taking the result today in context isn't difficult, all positives from me continually proud with our players remarkable achievements.
