The Stadium issue has wholly detracted from the reason I watch the game. Every final league position, every game, it just seems empty to me. What’s the point in averaging eighth for a poxy point on Red Hall’s grand plan?

I’ve no idea what WMDC’s financial involvement is to either venture, but, I was under the impression that the ground at Newmarket would be built & paid for via the whole scheme as a private venture.

The Cas situation is another matter. Are they funding Glasshoughton through the sale of Wheldon Road, because, until the blast zone issue is resolved they can’t sell jack.

Friends of mine, who don’t really follow the game, will say to me from time to time, ‘Wakey are having a good season’. To which I have to reply ‘yes but, if they don’t get a new ground their going to be kicked out of the league’

Trouble is Cas are way off the financial mark and the truth is they need the wakey land moving to their funding to complete, that is the bottom of it all They have played the tune and Box their monkey is dancing.

WMDC owns them. I know where the Wakey land is but not sure about Cas. Both are worth a few million but the exact value is a bit contraversial at the moment.

Box is prepared to ditch Newmarket to divert this funding to Cas.

Great statement from SWAG, reminding all concerned about the past duplicity of both WMDC & Box where WTRLFC are concerned.

Whatever happens I hope that the outcome sees both clubs surviving as viable SL clubs - anything less would be a disaster for the district of Wakefield.

No doesnt help me, if our scheme is independantly sustainable, what does the previous thornes stuff matter, or is it only sustainable with the pledge of the cash from the land sale?

So, am I right in saying that SWAG are still convinced that Newmarket is a go'er, but are worried that political shenanigans may try to remove some of the funding guarantee and use it to bolster the Cas stadium? Is it conceivable that WMDC are so convinced that Newmarket will go ahead that they feel they no longer need this guarantee, and see it as a chance to boost TWO areas?

Or is it the same old WMDC - teasing, but when it comes to the crunch running a mile. Only time will tell - but it's doing my head in!!!!

No land is to be sold - at least not yet. Funding towards the stadium was to be made available to both schemes via the opportunity to borrow money and set it against the land. Peter is now threatening the removal of even this last effort - despite letting us get 2 years down the road thinking we would get it - not just the time since it was rubber stamped by cabinet last year!

It's just another way of saying "look, you've cacked on us once, have some decency and don't cack on us again". And it's absolutely bang on.

Why did Box choose to make a press release only to the Wakey rag, no consideration to letting the Pont and cas readers know about this. Could it be that he believes they have no need to worry about such matters as their beloved Pete is making sure they get what they want.
