clearly the situation is we need to find a way to bring in a genuine stand off, and for that we are going to need to free up some cash, as stand offs dont come cheap. therfore one of drew, latu and obst will have to go which is a shame because i like all 3. this of course changes if danny brough goes.

the rest id let jk evaluate on a value for money basis at the end of this season, which he no doubt will, taking in to account recurrent injuries, form etc etc

If the new ground comes off then we will find it much easier to sign top class players. If we are wanting to improve players like Myler are the ones we should be targeting

Very true. You can have continuity and still replace/bring in a few players each season.

I agree he is a great prospect and could turn out to be anything, but I think with the greatest respect he is unlikely to swap Salford for Wakefield - even with a new stadium hopefully on the horizon.

I heard kylie leuluai was a target for next year anyway, would be a gd addition IMO

indeed he would a prop forward like stosic bibey who is prepared to work and be there to take the ball up all the time

What do Salford have that we don't? I'd say we're a bigger club than Salford with all due respect to them.

He looked very good on thursday, kept taking the ball up over and over and could tackle aswell.
I think with Stosic and Bibey back in the side and playing well we should see a different side. We need some good tacklers in the middle and some size to go forward, then the rest of the team will roll on from the back of it..

haggerty always seemed to be effective against us and would be glad to see him at trin, however i've a mate who is a salford fan and is of the opinion he's a bit lazy and a bit unfit. not sure how he's doin at quinns.

as for the initial post agree with a lot of it. cant make my mind up about drew, he will be on big dollar but was devastating in patches for the first part of the season. has his deterioration in form come as a result of us not getting on the front foot and giving him any decent field position?

obst - where do you begin with sam. brilliant tackler and hard worker but has he been effective in an attacking capacity? is he a hooker or a half? doesn't seem to have the zing from dummy half and the breaks he made at the beginning of his wakey career have dried up a little. hard to let head rule the heart as he's a great pro but maybe time to try something new?

latu - down the pecking order as a hooker due to drew and obst, not big enough to be in the back row on a consistent basis imo and thus game time has been restricted. not sure as a team we play to his strengths. depending on what happens with drew and obst wouldn't be that disappointed if he left but do believe he has a lot of talent we are not seeing often enough. silly bans and injuries haven't helped.

rooney - at his best is just what we are missing at the moment. a quick supporting stand off. at his worst can be very ineffectual. confidence seems to play a big part in his game. he needs to get some games under his belt and quickly start performing or it could be the best for both parties if he left. the thing is where do we get another stand off?

brough - if he wants to go we let him go simple as. if he doesn't then we should do our damnedest to make sure we can do the sums and retain his services.

think these players are the ones with the biggest question marks over their heads. cant be d to go through the others yet

I can't imagine so, from what i gather he has to renew his work permit every year. Therefore it would seem he had no problems with renewal this year.

He renewed it before the rules changed like most of the current overseas players over here did. Some players like francis Meli and Jamaal Lolesi didn't get their applications in on time and it caused them problems.

You could liken the situation to a one day cricket captain who has to decide when to make a bowling change, the shrewd operators make the change whilst the bowler is still bowling tight stuff - the not so smart operators wait until the bowler has been carted round the park for 20+ in an over before making a change. It sounds harsh, but timing is crucial, and at times the club needs to act in the best interests of the club.

He might struggle then, although it would be a little unfair it he was refused after being based here for about 3 years. Although nothing would surprise me

Well Scully won't be at Wakey next year so thats one of the Keeps "out" and i would keep Obst and Drew if i could, JD is worth a spot at the club IMO.


I hope Winterstien can prove his worth and stay with us a little longer, i don't have a opinion on the rest at this moment in time
