Personally i think it's a bad call letting him go, he's the best support player in the team IMO- but i know i'm in the minority...He's a fantastic signing for Barrow...

Sky viewers will be able to see him playing in Thursday night game this week.

Really rate Rooney.
This sort of decision must be the really difficult part of being a first team coach. Everybody likes to play at being the head coach re team selection etc - but i would find telling someone like Jamie Rooney that a move away from the club would be in his interest incredibly difficult.
I genuinely hope that he is invigorated by a new challange and shows the professional pride he has always had and gives 100% for his new team.
Seemed a really decent bloke that didnt think he was a big timer - i really respect people like that

Look at it this way it will keep him match fit if we get any injuries leading to play off's

If he'd had a bit more of the Danny Brough attitude, he could have been a "big timer". Maybe. Fact is he never showed enough consistency to warrant that tag, was rarely able to turn a game on his own, and that's what you need these days, nice bloke or not. He's done well out of Wakey, and he's made his contribution to the Wakey cause too. Respect to him.

I wish him all the best at Barrow. I'm sure he'll make a big impact there.

That's about the size of it. Lacked the aggression to be a real impact, but he seemed a decent bloke who tried his hardest and never took anyone for a ride.

I dont know the exact rules, but Wakefield were not in the Northern Rail cup, so I wouldnt expect him to be cup tied, unless there is some rule about the date of registration?

Rooney also gave us the best (or worst) ridiculous rumour ever during his time here. I feel that it will never be beaten.

When he was at Fev, everytime you turned on Radio Leeds it was always Rooney does this, Rooney does that, Rooney scores 20 odd points etc
