I'll be very sad should/when he leaves. Brough is mardy, does lose the plot, does have a go at people but that is the price you pay to have such a talented player in your team. He can win games at his best, and has at every club he's been at.

Loyalty is a strange concept - I think I'd rather have 2/3 years of a Brough than 10 years on a player who maybe isn't at the same level.

Still, when people talk of 'players after money' and such, Wally Lewis is still a hero to many, yet would he really have played for 'that' Wakefield side had the money not been there?

There's no chance is there that the players Shudds are offering in return may be, ahem, 'unavailable' for say 7-10 years?

I'm sure Trinity would make sure any players offered in any potential deal we're not involved in any alleged incidents earlier this year.

Such a political statement. What club in their right minds would portray the image that they want anything other than success in the future.

It's plain to see which direction the club aspires to go. The new stadium will be the catalyst for this club to grow and realistically compete for silverware. It might not happen in Brough's career span but in time we could see it.

I agree, but it is such a shame that it has felt like for 2 of those 3 years it feels like he was been wanting out, because his move to Huddersfield has been the talk on here for a long time. I can guess that it's not about greed, but about wanting to win things, and I don't blame him for that. Someone on here said that his head was turned by the world cup, and it does seem that Brough (we're no longer on first name terms) shifts and changes with whatever suits him best. He's Scottish when it gets him to a world cup, and then English the year after when it suits him more. I guess he'll be at Huddersfield for as long as Eastmond is at Saints or Myler at Wire, or for as long as Wigan don't need a new scrum half. As soon as there is a shinier opportunity, I suppose he'll be looking elsewhere. It's all part of his competitive edge that makes him the player that he is, but also at times infuriating.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that he and Robinson will go nose to nose during a match, because they are both mouthy little generals, except that Brough has got that Thornhill madness in his eyes.

When Danny joined us we were an 'average' SL side who had only just escaped relegation and were far from certain of getting a SL licence. Since he joined we have moved heaven and earth to find a site / a developer and get the council support we need to get a new ground - and therefore guarantee our SL place.

In the meantime we have, year on year, improved our playing roster and, more significantly, we have started to see the break-through of the new crop of junior talent - again following year on year increases in investment in that area.

We CANNOT guarantee a place in SL from 2012 - it just can'e be done, but we can all see that the plans are there and EVERYONE knows how crucial these are to the future of this club.

IF Danny is worried about this aspect, then - come November - he can play where he likes, until then he can only move if we are prepared to let him go (which would have to be to OUR benefit).

Us lot on here are stuck with our club - whatever happens - for as long as we have one. We want people to buy in to what we are trying to deliver and if Danny doesn't want / can't do that, then

I want him to stay as the guy is class and im pleased that he has attitude, if you take the attitude away then BROUGH wouldn't be the player he is today.

IMO he is the best halfback in ESL or on a par. I hope he stays as we will miss him as a club.

The club have seen DB as a priority signing since the end of last season. Talks have been going on for ages and there is no doubt the financial mess he got into had a significant effect on the negotiations. From what I hear everytime we had talks we seemed to meet a new obstacle. We would go away,work around it and then something else would be put in the way.

Now bearing in mind what happened with Griffin a few years ago and how he was turned, I do wonder how much crap shudds have put inside DB's head and how they may have exploited his financial problems to their ends. The truth will never come out but there is no doubt they have been chipping away behind the scenes for quite sometime

Talking of Drew I wonder if the players we get from Hudds will manage to play against them something Drew never did.

BJ to scrum half would be a bad move.

TBH I dont think Scrum Half and Stand off are not all that different, just one feeds it into the Scrum and the other doesnt. IF Brough is going i'm sure Cooke can direct the team around the field.

That's assuming Cooke is coming. Wouldn't want BJ directing things. Still wont believe any of it till it happens Kear was nailed on for the England job a week ago!

how's that then? last i knew there was just yet another thread saying he's going with absolutely no proof. he might leave he might not, we'll see won't we. if he does go and cooke does come then i hope it's not as a direct replacement we will need another scrum half imo
