| I honestly don't know what we prove by walking until you think of Steve Prescott and the walks he has done,
=redwonder if he would of been treated the same,
a massive thanks to the guys that organize this is scott, mick and al and they don't get the recollection that they deserve,
today they took this on the chin,
they will be walking back to huddersfield for the away match and I will again join them in this quest

| and also getting all the "dancing kids out!" well done snowie and all who did the walk ..i am getting seriously pi55ed with all the little girls stuck out on the pitch and down where we stand..it is becoming a joke !!! when will the wildcats people realise that rugby league is what we play and the money generated by all the dancing girls doesn't actually come in to the club, just the people who run the whatever it is they run!! also all the discount tickets for the parents who generally don't give a monkeys about the game (most just want to get pi55ed..)at how many other clubs do we see the ridiculous number of kids stuck in the middle of the pitch before the game and at half time ? well done to the boys who play RUGBY LEAGUE prior to the game.
ALSO WHY IS THERE NO SUMMER RUGBY CAMP FOR BOYS ????
to the club....SORT IT !!!!
stop being so politically correct! PLEASE!

| This is a disgrace by the club - they should show more consideration for the great efforts by those that put a lot of effort to support our players.
They seem to be going through a PR problem at the moment - I was disappointed that the Celtic game was rearranged with just 2 weeks notice making it difficult for many fans to get down there - another minor thing is today I took 5 friends to the game for the first time and got them seats on the East stand for the game. They were allowed in to Cats bar before the game but I was refused admission as since the last game they have decided that the season ticket I have is not enough to get in to Cats bar because it causes problems working out the crowd . I obviously missed this information in the newsletter the club send out.
I am usually pretty positive about the club but we seem to be struggling both on & off the pitch at the moment. However not allowing those who made the effort to do something to help Adam's family to get a little bit of credit from the fans is the worst thing they have done recently. This is more dissapointing than the result of the game.

| I expected the walkers to be welcomed into the ground for a walk-round salute, like they are at Huddersfield. I just saw one walker looking knackered and Big Al limping around with a bucket in his hand.
Well done to the walkers. Shame the club blew the PR. More importantly, sounds like the club blew the chance for a few extra pennies into the pot.

| Very bad form...just think of the good publicity for the fund with a picture in the Express on Friday of you guys walking round the pitch - from both clubs - and the extra money that may bring in.
We do seem to be going through a run of bad PR stuff at the minute - the way the whole suspension business was handled being another example of this.

| I was amazed too , half time came and not a mention of the walk .
Don't know any of the walkers personally, but recognized a lot of faces of people limping and overheated from the walk - congratulations to all of you who took part , fantastic effort on such a warm day - but once again , shame on you Wakefield , you seem to have really lost the plot lately in the pr department

| On behalf of the Adam Watene Fund I would like to say thank you to all who took part in the walk today. I, like everyone else, was expecting you all to walk round the pitch prior to the game and allow all the crowd to show their appreciation...... but I suppose we have to fit all the dancers in.
I will contact the club regarding this. Sometimes we really do shoot ourselves in the foot.

Could have walked around just after young ones who took part in rugby.
Hope you get a reply from the club and see what they have to say.
Big well done to each and every walker today though. Top people

| Suprised the club did not have something on.
John Kear made a specific mention of it a tthe evening with and was very supportive so you would think other members of the club would be aware and wanting to show appreciation

| Can only agree with what's been written on this thread. Not letting the walkers take the plaudits at half time was not only a PR chance missed but an insult to Adam Watene's memory.
Shame on the club.

| I must admit I'm very surprised the club didn't utilize this walk to help Adam's family by allowing a walk around the pitch with a few buckets to collect from the fans. Last season at Huddersfield when we were asked to walk round the Galpharm pitch I was truly choked when we walked towards the Wakey fans who were all on their feet clapping. It made the blisters on my feet less painful. A wasted chance by the club to show how much Adam meant to them. Thanks for the walk though guys, me and my mrs loved it and will do it again on 5th July to hopefully meet some more members on here. Didn't realize i'd been talking to chissit until we'd done about 14 miles

I'm lost for words and have calmed down from returning home
sorry Al I did tell you when I left that I wasn't happy but its been a privilege to walk with you all'"
I am not going to get into the club business, it may have been an oversight on their part or maybe there is other issuses to address at the club which maybe they feel are more important or maybe they just feel that there were enough responsible people dealing with it who knows.
What I want to say is that young Lewis and the rest of the kids that did the walk yesterday were fantastic walking all that way in the heat, and I am sure that like snowie the parents of them kids are really proud of their achievment. I certainly am

'" the kids were great when we reached the mining museum I had to wait for him to catch us up, leaving you yards ahead, he had tied feet at that point and I got him to go going again to the extreme where he just ran off to the front leaving me to plod on behind, didn't catch up with until we got to the ship pub in horbury, thanks for keeping an eye out for him Al

| I thought I must have missed the announcement about the walkers, so couldn't beleive it when I saw this thread. Disgraceful !
I did wonder at full time if the players had walked with you as they certainly played like they had just done a 16 mile hike
Seriously though, well done to everyone, wish I could have joined you xxx

| I can only echo them sentiments Chissit. ALL of the kids were amazing. Lewis was struggling like crazy. He has heel problems as it is, but he just kept going.
The girls in their tu-tu's nicked Al's bucket and got people sticking their hands in their pockets and Al also carried on in the ground.
Unfortunately for me, once I stood, I seized up and 3 blisters, each the size of a 2p piece scuppered my walking once we got to Belle Vue.
All in all though, it was gutting that the club didn't acknowledge the walkers efforts on the day. More for you guys than anything.

| Ponner said it all when he says walking round the pitch makes the blisters less painfull and the bonding between fans is awesome.
All I have to say is Trinity are at the mo' a total disgrace in the P.R. dept.
Well done to all who walked true heroes in my eyes.

Don't blame yerself Mick, with all due respect to anyone at the club, I don't wish to stir up a hornets nest, they have known for at least 3 months, from the contact that I have had with 2 people there.
Just feel I need to make this fact known.
