Today I have had a good day, Leon has been fantastic, and with the strengh he has gathered from everones good wishes he has been strong and made a great leap forward. In a nutshell, his heart is now beating without the aid of any pacing wires, his blood pressure is stable, they have reduced his medication, and just afew hours ago they took him off the ventilator. Whilst he is not out of the woods totally, this sort of recovery just 72 hours after surgery is what my dreams were made of. Helen has put more details on the blog, as usual please be aware that some people may find the images upsetting, but i feel it is important to show these as they may help others, who, god forbid, ay ever be in the same situation. So a big thanks to everyone for the kind words, I'm off to bed and cannot wait to see my boy in the morning. A way to go yet, but a big corner turned....

Well folks things just keeping better, today Leon came out of intensive care and has been moved into the High Dependency Unit. Just 4 days after major surgery, I don't know what I have done to deserve such a strong willed little boy, but he is truly an inspiration. Just a quick note as a couple of people were enquiring.
Leon yesterday celebrated (with cake obviously) 7 years from his first major Open Heart Surgery, He has had a few operations since, but all things considered is in fairly good health. The Outlook is still unsure, but we take each milestone as it comes and hope for everything but expect nothing.
Thanks to all for the support over the years, and just remember Rugby League is only a game, we may agree and disagree with each other, but please, keep it in context.. its only a game, some things are way more important..!
