Yes, but what’s wrong with that. Even if we were still in SL I’d take it but in the Championship definitely. Isn’t that the point of being the wealthiest club in the league, the ability to take chances. If the lad doesn’t work out we just get another one, most likely a man out of favour NRL player who fancies a mid season move to England.

I think the most crucial part of all the interviews was that again we were last to the party to sign players so on reality having to work twice as hard to put together the squad and unearth the gem or two. Every player will not be household name that's for sure and personally don't want them to be .re Smith he was main man at fev and obviously still thought of as super league standard. I wouldn't judge any player on last year because as a team they were all over place.

I think Morgan Smith would fit nicely in this team.

Spot on. I liked Mash and wanted him to do well, but he was under funded and lacked experience, and it showed on the pitch. It's no coincidence that we got better in the last third, because so did Mash and the players he could afford. By that time Smith was a bit of a lost cause, mainly because he's a support player who had nobody to support. Not sure he is SL standard to be honest, but he's more chance of showing it at Hull than he was with us last year.

It's also worth noting that Smith was far more experienced than this lad, he wasn't that big a gamble, where is this boy definitely is. They are not the same kind of signing imho.

You two grow up and act like grown ups please. From what I gave seen we have paid a small fee for a couple of players which we have not been able to do over last few years so another big positive for me.

Also myles Lawford not officially named yet by trinity and only my opinion but I have enjoyed the surprise announcements direct from them and have looked forward to them. Just think it is a bit of a shame when leaked elsewhere first.

Lawford looked promising for us but never got a run in the first team. It'll be interesting to see how much 1st team rugby he gets at Trinity.

Sorry pop tart disagree. Every player we sign deserves the headline. The position we are in every player we sign must be ready for the championship, sure we will not be signing someone not to play. Remember it is a team sport not individual

I don't disagree in terms of playing. We shouldn't sign someone not ready to play. I was just meaning the marketing team might not push his name quite as hard as say a McGillivray.
But then that's why I'm in IT and not Marketing probably.

We've definitely had people that do it.....but a marketing team implies experience and skills and I'd say we've stepped up a few notches.

You had Lee Gaskell keeping him out though.

We had that problem last year and he was bad ,and I can say we tried 4\or 5 half to replace him ,whith out been successful lol .Looks to me like Powell as brought in a young scrum - half, a young stand - off and a young hooker,so is planning for the future. Question is does it do any thing to push us for promotion, Will be interesting to find out
