As for people saying he shows no commitment to the cause I don't buy in to that, I'm sure he's as committed as the rest of the team, he failed to deal with Senior but so do lots of others to be fair. Obviously Atkins needs to improve and also needs to start realising his potential, a proper stand off would help, wonder how he'd go running off someone like Cooke who can spray a 30 yard ball out?

Maybe that is how he comes across, but when ever you talk to him he is sound and you can tell he enjoys signign autographs and talking to fans especialy the younger ones!

On the chatting with Senior thing - it'd look a lot better away from the game, especially after a narrow defeat, laughing and joking on camera. It's all about perception. Say like when you used to see the team up on Westgate after getting beaten, it never looks good to the regular supporter.

So...summing things up then,if the rumours about Leeds been interested in Atkins for next season are true,would you want to keep him or get a shed load of cash for him?

Whilst I think Atkins has a lot to offer Wakefield, it seems that the reluctance to ship the ball out wide may mean the club are not utilising a strike player in the most efficient way. If this persists then the club might as well cash in and put the money to good use and recruit a top quality SO and a defensively sound centre.

It seems to have gone quiet over here regards atkins joining so who knows!!!
If he were to leave though wakey have the security of having him tied to a contract so you'd expect a decent wedge for him plus with newton and tronc expected to join you i doubt they'd be coming cheap.

First try aside, pretty good showing for me. Looked interested and enthusiastic in my opinion - much improved from the last few weeks. Lets hope he can build on this and get back to form.
