| Randal defo a hooker
Could it be the lad we've signed from wire to play LF?
I've not seen much of him but from what I have seen he does have some ball handling skills

| Dare I say our recruitment last off season, Hampshire aside, was poor. Desperately in need of a blockbuster backrower in the mould of Junior Moors and we go for George King? Fair enough if budget won't allow but it just seems we're going backwards player wise

| Horo is coming into his own now I think. Not a Junior Moors but is good. He was very good against Leeds when we needed someone to step up.
I'd like to think he will get better next year as well.
Pauli is still only ok for me. I'm sure he takes a lot of sting out of the defence but they stopped him at Headingley with players a lot smaller than him. He runs from a standing start and runs slowly too. That means people can get hold of him and put a hit on. Fifita in comparison bounces people off and then get's chance to off load or go again.
If he wants to stay I would try and keep Arona.
For me there are groups of players.
Fifita, TJ, Tupou, Miller, BJB, Ashurst are the group I would really not want to lose, and so would be able to command the best contract, probably in that priority order too.
Lyne, Arona, England, Wood are the next group down.
Jowitt and Batchelor could easily be elevated into those groups with a run of form that shows their potential is being realised.
I'm sure Kirmond, Finn, Grix, Horo, Pauli, Randall, Huby are all in the top groups in terms of money but all are now replaceable due to either age, injury or short term contracts
I'm thinking Wood is pushing his way into the top group too.

| Asked my friend who is related to him. Says he’s coming, won’t miss a tackle, will get over the gain line regularly but doesn’t break tackles as much as he could. Plays loose.

| I don't think family members are best at impartial views, which is natural, Mable. The George King is even more puzzling considering we've got Batchelor, Annakin, Crowther who can play loose.

| Batchelor is a running second row for me. Not a 13
Needs to be out wide.
Annakin is just too small though he has heart and technique others would envy.
Crowther I'm just not sure......but right now I can't see that King is better.

Well if CC has learnt one thing from JK, it's not to have faith in your own.
When CC came in and mixed it up over Easter, I honestly thought we had a coach that understood what Wakey was about but he's regressed into safety first and lost that impulsive decision making flair.

He isn’t rubbish by any means but he’s probably only in the next category. Pretty much bog standard and definately no better than what we will be getting off the books to pay for him. The grass is always greener though....

You will never please every one with recruitment.
Joe Wardle was our stand out signing but he's hardly played due to injury. Mitch Clarke was signed and shipped out on loan but he's been brought in for the last few games and done superbly as an interchange prop.
I realise you wouldn't know Wilzay but Moors has been playing prop this year.

I assume this is in reference to your "prop signing for Warrington" and "new signing" comments on your board and that the current club are keeping it quiet because he is a fans favourite?
The only prop I can see at Wakey falling into the fans favourite category is Big Dave and he only signed a new 2 year contract last year with the option of a third.
Before he signed his contract last year he had offers to go elsewhere and made specific reference to the fans and his team mates at Wakefield as to why he stayed.
Therefore, I cannot see why we would allow him to join Warrington nor why he would want to only 1 year into that new deal.
Our team is a different proposition with him in it and it would be absolute madness for us to let him go whilst still under contract, especially if the option of a third year allows us to exercise it.
If you are referring to any other players within the team, then all the ones who would carry the "fans favourite" label imo are also tied down to contracts with multiple years to go, so again why would we allow them to sign for Warrington unless Moran is throwing silly money at us as a transfer fee.
Even if a big transfer fee was involved, I believe any such deal would seriously undermine all the good work that MC has done over the last few years in getting the vast majority of the fan base onside and making us believe the days of us letting our best players leave prematurely were over.

| Good post tricky
All any one need do is follow big Dave on instagram to see how much he loves the club and his team mates
Dave after years of trying to find a home has finally found one at wakefield trinity
His back story in getting to us has being a real tough one too for him
I hope he can bring his family back again next year too because that will only make him happier and I'm sure help him on the pitch too

Don't worry Tricky it can't possibly be true. Established Wakefield players only go to Leeds. Promising young Wakefield players only go to Huddersfield.

You are probably right with the "Bog standard" comment in the present time, but so was Kirmond when he signed from Hudds. He then became probably one of the most in demand second row forwards in the comp. Players thrive in different environments as Wakefield fans we should know that more than anyone else as we seem to do well out of players that are not deemed to be quite good enough. I imagine if he is coming that he wont break the bank and will be hungry to prove himself, as a squad player he would be a decent signing for me.

So you keep saying, although you mentioned earlier that the fans of the current club of the player will soon be questioning why he has not signed an extension to his contract where as before you was saying you had paid a fee for this player? If you are talking about big Dave he is signed up for next season already, so we don`t need him to sign an extension for him to play with us in 2019. Arona is OOC this year and we already know barring a U turn from our coaching staff he will not be with us next season.
Some of your comments I have seen from you surrounding Wire been able to sign who you want regardless of contracts are arrogant and hilarious at the same time as I actually think that you believe that in your own head.

| Trying to stay as on topic as possible, after LyndsayGill mentioning promising young Wakefield players only go to Huddersfield - I'm going to take a minute to praise Aaron Murphy, what a player he was for us and has consistently been for the Giants. Playing very well in the SR and has bulked up majorly since his time at Belle Vue.

Always liked Murphy and wasn't happy when Huddersfield "stole" him during admin but, although he was a decent FB and Winger, he doesn't really seem to have made the transition to SR just yet.
Maybe with another season or 2 on his back, he will but, he has the look of a "filler in" at the mo.

It was interesting to hear him say that right from the very beginning of his career he has always said he was a second rower and not a centre/winger. I guess he just never had the size to get his coaches backing on that front.

These things take time, he looks very strong in defence and doesn't put a poor shift in yet since I've seen him.
Been over at Huddersfield a few times recently.
