| I guess that's an issue of volume? I'd imagine they get significantly more fans through the gates than CT or WTW?
I've got no stake in persuading you to attend or not Dave - if you've arrived at a point where you feel it's no longer value for money, there's not much that anyone can do, outside of the team going on a winning streak, that will persuade you otherwise.
You'll be back though

| I hope I am Bren lad, I'm not saying otherwise. BUT... when I'm ready to come back, will the club still exist???
Yeah there was about 20k in the stadium that night, playing Newcastle I believe.
But if Cas and Wakey charged £10, I'm sure we would fill the stadiums.
My dad for example has just retired, he was watching cas from about 1965-1990 (around the time I was born) ....he comes with me about 2/3 times a year now and the reason for that is cause it's not worth £21.
i mean, Christ, my first match was in 1999 and it was £11 for adults. I tink it's pretty much gone up a quid a year since and it's disgusting considering the club has been so frivelous with the fans money

I can relate to that.
It's not just the gate price though either, the fuel needs to be taken into consideration too. If I was paying on the gate, then an average home game would cost about £35 (ticket, fuel, burger and a pint) and as the cost of living's going up all the time it needs to be justifiable, I need to know it was worth giving up £35 and missing four and a half hours with my little girl!
At this moment in time i'm thinking i'll not get a season ticket next year and i'll just pick a few games here and there instead.

I've said this before, but I happily avoid the additional expense that some people seem to view as compulsory - I take my flask and a bag of crisps for half time and if the Mrs has been busy in the kitchen, I may even get a muffin.
As for the time away from family - I view the expense of going to a game as a perfectly acceptable cost of getting away from them for an afternoon; I guess my kids are a bit older than yours though, so the novelty has well and truly worn off!

Dave, a couple of my family members who have never been to BV before asked me about coming to a game this season, untill i told them the price and i've not seen them since.
While i don't think its over priced myself they won't be bothering sadly.

right, so Poore is still of Origin quality is he? Don't make me giggle. He is here because he couldn't stay fit - he's only playing 40 mintues per game for you guys.
to say watching a man wh can't tackle play is "a privelege" then for me that about sums up the standard. And we have the mercurial Rangi on show as well... *sigh* a man who runs across the line, runs back, runs across again, then drops it off to someone stood still
yes, this is a game that trully inspires me.
On a brighter note, Normanton play Eastmoor on Saturday!
If you want to see players playing for their town, rather than pretending to be great players mixing it with the big time.
As I say, I don't expect everyone to agree, but if this fixture is the highlight of your year then it's a real shame.'"
Benji Marshall can't tackle and it'd be a privilege to watch him play here as well mate.
Poore may not be playing Origin stuff atm but as the season goes on he will be hopefully getting something like, there's one thing for sure though he isn't past it.

| I can't wait for the game tomorrow, Cas away by far my favourite away day. Always cracking atmosphere, bumper attendances and even though the games are not always the most skilful, they nearly always are blood and thunder affairs.
One thing that is disappointing is the rivalry is a bit nastier now than it used to be, I used to sit in the Tigers Bar with some mates in my Wakey top after every game there for years, but have felt increasingly uncomfortable the last 3 seasons or so, and that's a shame.

Sorry but that is so wrong and could apply to any games.
I'm with TRB on this one, why do people talk the club and the game down.
The skill levels on display between top and bottom over a season are marginal. Sometimes Leeds or Saints fire and sometimes they don't - Ditto Salford or Widnes. One of the biggest myth in sport is that top teams playing each other give you the best games, yet in my experience it's nothing like. The CCup or FA Cup are often dull affairs as are much trumpeted league clashes. Yet sometimes you can watch a so called low key game and it's the best game of the season. The only difference is top teams turn it on and win more often and hence win titles. In the past ten years I have seen Cas and especially Wakefield play each other in games of intensity and skill the equal of any other. All your doing is applying a weird kind of inverted snobbery and pandering to elitism.
I remember a reporter telling Obst after the million pound game that it was lacking skill etc. Obst got really annoyed and told the twerp that when the players future and the clubs future is on the line you don't just throw the ball around. He said it was a very skillful game (and I agree) because keeping it tight and holding the line is the hardest skill of all - I'd personally love to see how well some of the star studded teams would have played in our position, I reckon some big names and big mouth would be found wanting.

| While ever Tim Smith is playing for us, every game we are going to see extremly high calibre rugby league, whether it for the full 80 or parts of the game. Some of the passes i have seen him do really makes it a privilege to have witnessed such a fine player in the red white and blue.

Cas v Fev in the CC springs to mind - as a neutral, one of the most enjoyable games of the season; Fev v Wigan wasn't a bad sequel either.
I think there is something in the original point though - hard-fought, tight games where both teams aim to keep possession and turn the ball over in a controlled way can tend to look 'safer' - to the casual observer, I guess that can appear less exciting. To the RL purist however, games like that can be a joy to watch.
All I'm hoping for tonight is a game that sees both sets of players want the win as much as the fans do; if it's anything like as entertaining as Leeds v Bradford last night, that'll do me.
