| I know some of kids got turned away because he was only signing autographs for 30mins.
But question is, would all them have been at the game if he was not there?

2. Boy Sampson
Personally thought it was a complete waste of time and money spent on him, apart from all the kids round him could not see how it was of any benefit to anyone else in the ground. I had to ask my niece where he was, she pointed someone out in a green hooded top. This could have been anyone and there were kids at school with a bit of lino who were just as good.

6578 was not expecting that much, don't know if boy Sampson attracted anymore, difficult to tell how many Salford brought seemed quite a few behind the sticks as i walked round. On the other hand the size of our city we should be attracting more punters through the turnstiles especially with the start to the season we have had.Maybe its the cost to get in ?

3. Match
First half thought we controlled it without getting out of second gear. Second half thought we were very poor and their halfbacks ran the show. Very poor options on fourth and fifth tackle with forwards thinking they were playmakers.Certainly have to step up a few gears if we want to beat Warrington
The critic inside me aside with the players we have available before and then during the match it is a fantastic result and a brilliant start to the season.'"

| Agree but most of the young people who really wanted to meet him was on the field at the time, i think the club are really working hard at attracting new fans to stadium and with the team playing well this will hopefully feed back to the thousands of dorment fans that refuse to purchase a ticket but quick to criticise the club

I'm all for more spectators coming through the turnstiles even if the main reason is that they are not here the rugby as it is extra money for the club. Also that person may have enjoyed the rugby and want to come back again.
But from my perspective today was you could hardly see him and quite clearly it appears that a lot of youngsters have come down to see him and rugby aside if my sole reason for being there today was to see him perform today i would have been disappointed, Thought he should have at least walked round the ground so the youngsters could have seen him after he had performed.'" '" there's some talented young and up and coming bands out there, I'm not asking for a well known band just one that can play in the corner, you have a choice you can listen or move to the other side of the ground,
george did nowt for me and my lad wasn't interested too, we had a good view of the field behind the sticks but was blocked by the watching dancers on the field, saw a few legs up in the air great for the young ones not knocking that but for the time he was here I would of preferred a singing band, just my preference if that's ok

| 1st half I was very impressed. 2nd we were saving our selves for friday so im not 2 worried. Grix injury a huge worry that is the worsed thing about today. Attendence was fine Salford never bring many. Atmosphere not great we need to make more noise friday thats for sure. I heard the 'blanch will tear you apart again' chant that allways makes me laugh! Thought Luelui for them had a great game we could do with another prop like him, we claped him off when he ran next to us he was very chuffed bet he would love to play for us . All in all I am happy. Bring on the team with no heart come on Wire !!

| first half thought we played some real good stuff, realy threw the ball about well defence looked good and we made salford look second rate. second half thought we went down the route of up the middle running into brick walls too much and if wed of continued on from the first half wed of killed them off. with the loss of grix it meant drew was closer in and for me it was scrappy second half

| It wasn't just Grix that got injured though, although his was the worst. At one time we had Hendo off through injury and both Blaymire and Drew limping round. Hendo came back on later and the others stuck it out. The 2nd half was always going to be a lot tighter. The penalty from the kick off was the worst start possible, compounded just after with Atkins getting penalised for moving off the mark. Job done in the 1st 40 I think and not thrown away in the 2nd 40.

| A promising first half, aided by a favourable penalty count and the wind, led expertly by Drew and Grix. All the forwards looked fresh and made good yards. Stosic impressed me with his first stint and so did Wilkes. Ball retention 100% improvement from not only Wilkes but across the bored.
I really thought the team should’ve scored more given the amount of possession they had and yards they were making and thought Wakefield would pay the price in the second half. The loss of Grix was a big blow and it was no coincidence that with no half back on the field Trinity lacked any cutting edge or direction. There were plenty of opportunities to finish the game off before they eventually did but a mixture of poor play and rash decision making put paid to that. Grix is now out for a reported 6 weeks with ruptured ankle ligaments so I can only hope Obst will be back on Friday otherwise it’s going to be a long night.
Salford did up their game in the second through with an ‘offload at will’ game plan, sometimes they were blind offloads. All it needed was one of the Wakefield players to move behind the tackle before it was complete and cheap position could’ve been obtained. I was impressed with restricting Salford to just the two tries given the lack of possession and the amount of defence work the team had to do in the second 40.
All in all it was a great first half with a satisfactory second half performance.
