Got the same letter yesterday saying my comments have been recieved, anyone who's not commented on the Wakefield Council planning site do it now, just register and add a comment of support it only takes 5 mins.

4 objections received today meaning they have crept up to 30% now. Click the link in my sig or visit the SWAG website to see the latest figures.

9 in the last 4 days is a worrying trend if it continues....
I only wrote mine in yesterday.. honestly takes less than 5 mins to do.

Obviously the Methley residents have got together and co-ordinated a response of objections. We need to increase the support co-ordinated response. Download the Flyer and pass on to people you know who do not have an internet connection who want to support the development.

The project as a whole will generate jobs and income for our City. I believe that the developers in this case have thought long and hard about ensuring this project will not cause traffic/congestion problems for local residents and they have also factored in several areas for wildlife habitats so there should be no detrimental effect on the areas wildlife.

The development will also provide a stadium which would become home to the City's only professional sports team and a venue for regional/national competitions which will bring additional revenue into the city, as well as additional sporting facilities to be used by the wider community which should in turn promote health and wellbeing within the residents of Wakefield.

With these factors in mind I can only see the development as being beneficial to the district and am fully behind this development.

Indeed, not good at all. Still I think it’s something that can be resolved, after all this is just the Outline application with detailed to follow. Specifics of the increase in woodland such as species etc would no doubt be added into that. Also mitigation can be incorporated into the design to preserve the Otter’s habitat outside of the proposed site.

The outline application is the most important. The detailed application follows on and is often a "reserved matters" application which after the outline consent is relatively straight forward. No outline consent - no detailed consent - no stadium.

I don't think there is need to panic yet, I'm sure YorkCourt will have come accross this situation before but they will have to address the WY Ecology's concerns now. Remember, Natural England are not objecting to the proposal which is helpful.

Still need all on here to get letters of support. Did mine ages ago, its so simple so no one has any excuses.

I will kill the otters myself if it puts the mockers on this. Bloody tree hugging hippies get right on my nerves.

If you do you will face imprisonment, Otters are Protected like Great Crested Newts which I haver come accross before.

Seriously though I have read the letter from West Yorkshire Ecology. They are not against the development as such but are objecting the the granting of permission to the scheme as submitted. They are wanting to see a further survey and mitigation measures in respect of the otters habitats.

I would hope that thier concerns can be addressed by YorkCourt and they will then remove their objection.

Otters add little value to my life, and if I had to choose between the global extinction of otters or the extinction of Wakefield Trinity, due to the lack of a stadium, the elongated water rats lose out. And while we're on it, I could imagine a life without newts. Name me one thing that an otter does for anyone, as opposed to a rugby club, which gives a lot to thousands.

Next week, we'll be discussing the Amazon. What are all those trees really for? We want to explore one of the greatest rivers in the world, and you can't build a road anywhere near it for the blooming things. Or a hotel. Or a McDonalds. You've got to eat when you explore.

They (and i don't know who they are) are dropping flyers tomorrow in Stanley/Methely/Rothwell areas, my mates wife has been calling in distributors all day today, for a big drop Friday.
