| Quote ="bren2k"1. I heard it the other way - the interviewer said "is the 400k AFTER the sale of Smith," and Carter replied, "No."
2. He said he also had a letter from AG giving an undertaking that he wouldn't pull his money out.'"
You better listen again then, he answered yes to that question!

Call a meeting of potential investers.i am prepared to invest £1000. so all we need is 399 more. if the target i not met.say 200 take up the option=£200000 a shotfall of £200000 ask again this time for £500.if not met next call £125. and so on. If anyone is prepared to invest more i am sure they will be welcomed.
BRING IT ON.'"
I cant see why the club hasnt done this before? what they got to lose? I dont think we can get one person to put £400,000 in can you? A supporters trust that has a share in the club, got to be better than no club at all...

| We need to identify major companies that have had a long affinity to Wakefield where sponsorship would increase the profile and their customer base even more. What about Greggs to approach as a shirt sponsor?
Greggs Bakery Wakefield started his activity in 1951, when John Gregg opened his first small bakery. Since then the Greggs Bakery Wakefield became one of the largest bakery company in UK. With over 1600 shops they want to open another 600 new shops. Visit the Greggs Bakery Wakefield, in Wakefield, at 6 Kirkgate Way, All Saints Wal, WF1 1US.
They have an annual turnover of £739 million and a profit of nearly £54 million. Their head office is in Newcastle but they've had a bakery in Wakefield for over 60 years (seemed to do a bit better than Hoffmans over the years).
The money from the fans alone may not be enough whatever they say(remember Bradford last time?) we need local business to contribute.

The History of Double TWO now THE WAKEFIELD SHIRT COMPANY - Possible Sponsor to approach
The company was founded in 1940 by Mr Isaac Donner and Mr Frank Myers to make and sell men’s shirts.
A small room for a factory was found on the fourth floor of a building in Kirkgate, Wakefield, and over a period of a very few years the partners gradually bought up the whole of the building and developed it into a large shirt-blouse factory.
In 1946, when the war was over and the men returned to working in Britain’s factories and farms, a big market developed in men’s shirts, which was the original speciality of Mr Donner and Mr Myers. They therefore switched the bulk of production to collar-attached shirts.......With these two products both selling well, and ladies’ shirts once more back in the range, Double TWO needed to expand its production further, and in 1952 the company acquired a large wool textile mill on an eight acre site to the south of Wakefield.

| I will be there on Sunday shouting the boys on! I wont lie, I am miffed. Elston needs to go! Why the cheerleaders are getting paid that stupid amount I will never know, tbh I would rather watch young kids (lads & lasses alike) showcasing my sport! Very honest interview from Mr Carter, hard facts that many don't like/want to hear but he would have been slated if he didn't tell the truth. People who want to walk away, well that is their prerogative, I cannot comment as people have different situations! All is I can say to those going, take your tin hats and prepare for a bit of stick from 'some' (not all as many want to see our rivalry continue) Tigers fans, ignore them whatever the score and get behind the team! Because we, Wakefield, deserve better! Red, White and Blue forever, not just for glory!

| Lets be honest not company will be looking at Wakefield and thinking its a good idea at the moment.....what else can the fans and club do to raise the funds? what did Bradford do?
its time to get together and chip in...Fan nights, auctions etc......
Should the RFL save the club.....
Should the club sell players and start again.....
Should the club go into championship until they have a stable financial footing....
I think its about time the club came out and said who the debts are too, because I feel there is far more than meets the eye with this...

I hope the letter is a binding legal document because a letter doesn't stop him changing his mind at some time in the future. Nick Rigg describe it only as an 'handshake' which is totally worthless.

TRB has also mentioned this already but we are looking into this.
As you have already said 400 people putting in £1,000 would go along way to solving our problems. However we believe that the investment should be in the form of shares rather than just a "donation". Having said that we don't want to be in the position like Bradford where people "donated" £500,000 only to see the Club go under in any event.
If the right conditions can be found I will be happy to invest £1,000 into the club and I'm sure I would not be on my own.
Watch this space.

| Quote ="Fordy"Right, now is the time to stand up and be counted. The statement from Michael Carter seems frank, honest and genuine.
Selling Smith was the only option we had and so even though it's disappointing that it has had to come to that, I'd rather that than lose MY club!!
A fresh start is needed and that can only happen if WE back the Club and the new Chairman who seems to know what he is doing.
On the plus side we will start next season as everyone's prediction for relegation which is when the Wakefield Spirit shows itself and we generally go out and prove everyone wrong.
The Club and the Team will get my full backing starting tomorrow at Huddersfield. I hope that others feel the same.'"
Ahhh Fordy, frank open and honest was what I thought I was getting from Glover. I am so saddened by this. I've seen some mismanagement in my 40 years as a Trinity fan but the apparent honesty fom the Glover regime seemed like a new start, though the amateurish running of the club on match days always gave me cause fo concern. I'll be back. It's in my blood but it is sickening to be the perennial sick man of the game when we can call on pretty good support and a club like Huddersfield can't really, not even in the best of times. 8000 and a bit to lift the league leaders trophy and Mr Davy to bank roll it...yes I am envious, of course. And bitter that the loyalty I and so many others have shown is so often let down by incompetents

IF we had all paid £200-225 for our s/t's it would almost make up the shortfall.'"
As has been said, we don't run the club. We don't get the accounts posted to us. We don't read the bank statements. We trust the a -holes that keep turfing up at our club to run it properly and Mr I am the f ing saviour Glover and his monkey Elston were supposed to have this in hand. I won't take this riff that it's kind of our fault fo accepting cheap season tickets. It's their responsibility to get their sums ight. Also, some serious money has gone untaken in shoddy, late arriving, over priced, merchandise, running out of stock and staff on match days and it would seem, waste on drivel like young girls waving pom poms from what I've read. It is as it has always been...mis management at Wakefield. I won't be blamed for signing a deal that was offered. For a start, I can only get to about 75% home games anayway but signed up to a gold memebership BECAUSE it was cheap and made sense. So they need to make a deal that suits someone like me that lives away...or I'll pay on the gate...or is that not good enough???! To be honest I've about had enough. I'm damn angry. I will be back but only because it's in my blood, but I do not trust this guy Carter. He is part of this regime and they have ballsed up as badly as any other; worse in fact

| Sorry to sound like a broken record but if the foxy bingo deal is still on, then this would be an easy way of fans helping generate funds for an extra 10 quid.
Say we have c6000 fans including walk ups, I bet less than 1000 will have signed up to the deal so far. Consequently, if the other 5000 did then that would be 250k towards the 400k target
I am willing and perhaps fortunate financially in being able to do the share thing if the ST can get the assurances required and it is an option the club will entertain, but this is one thing that every fan not already signed up could do
