I've actually tried one, but for my disability it's no good. Thanks for suggesting though.

Exactly.
I know its unfortunate for some people, but come on.....
How many home games will we have before the new stand is open?
Maybe 10 or 12????
A bit of discomfort for now for a great looking new stand around this time next year?

Less than that I’d imagine. I suspect that some seating will be available by then. Done right bits of the new stand could be used whilst work on the main facilities are completed. Once the structure is up and the roof on then most H&S issues can be overcome to offer basic accommodation for at least 800.
Might not be in the plan but Leeds basically placed a temp stand within the main stand when they did the north stand.

2 games this year and probably the whole of next season.
Looking at the contract programme the final testing won’t be completed until after the end o 2023 season, I’m no health and safety expert, but I don’t think the public will be allowed in the stand until the safety certificate is issued.
As you can see from the dates given we already seem to be behind schedule.
Below is a paragraph from the Trinity delivery plan.
Contract Programme
Morgan Sindall has prepared the contract programme to meet the requirements and constraints of Wakefield Trinity’s league calendar commitments.
The key constraint is the need to ensure seating provision is maintained through the construction period. To do this temporary seating will be provided for the remainder of the 2022 season and 2023. The enabling works have to commence by 4th July 2022 for the construction work for the project to remain on track for completion by the end of the 2023 season.
The programme also has to meet the requirements of the Sports Ground Safety Authority Green Guide. Practical completion will therefore follow the testing and certification required by the Green Guide on 13th October 2023.
Key milestones are set out below:
Planning decision notice
25/03/22
Submission of Delivery Plan to Wakefield Council 01/06/22
Enabling works commence 04/07/22
Construction commences 23/08/22
Construction completes (Practical Completion) 21/07/23
Commence stadium testing 14/07/23
Complete stadium testing 13/10/23

| I was surprised how many were still in there after the initial days removal.
Actually, I would have stood in there to save the soaking from the umbrella next to me.

Perhaps it makes sense not to spend money on removing seats that no one wanted. My guess is they will be ripped out during demolition and sorted from the rubble, there is a fair bit of weight there in scrap metal.

Maybe saving them for something, don't think they are very old tbh.

| I noticed last night from the Cats bar, there has been several roofing sheets removed from the roof @ the North end of East Stand. One of the club’s employees said the workmen had worn full protective clothing and breathing masks. Hopefully, it won’t be long now before the full demolition starts.

| I just read that Cougars are getting their new all seater 2100 stand with internal facilities progressed with a 2.25 million grant. Inclusive of demolishing current one.
I’m trying to find the full figure to see if more has been added but that seems a low amount considering what we are getting for 5 to 6 x that amount.
I’m very happy we are progressing with the development but seems there’s some huge difference in costings on the face of it.

The article is very misleading. If you read it again It states a grant “towards” a new stand, that is not the same as the actual cost. There are no actual plans or coatings available as far as I can tell. I suspect the club will need to find at least 6 million in total to complete.
Trust me there is no way on earth you can build a 2000 seater stands with the clubs full facilities for even close to that. The last time you could was about 20 years ago.
About 10 years ago Barnet FC built an 800 seater stand that was two thirds the pitch length with just two changing rooms, a bar and four boxes of sorts and that cost them 1.8 million.
Our boxes cost 800k twenty years ago and they are technically a temporary structure.
We are effectively getting two new stands, one all singing and dancing and a new car park. Sounds about right. A lot depends on spec and the East stand is high spec.

Yeah I suppose there will be a number of other contributions financially being made.
Ours certainly does look a good spec as I’d imagine we will run most of our operations from it soon as it’s built.
I was hoping to find some plans etc but I couldn’t find any. Honestly can’t wait till it’s built and I will be relocating their when it’s finally done from the north stand.

Mike O’Neil is a past master at hype. He invented Bullmania or Cougarmsnia as it was then.
He probably has nothing in place as yet and it won’t be completed when he says. But what he now has is a starting sum and being a good salesman he can now sell it to the banks and other partners.
It’s very similar to where Cas are now. They have 2 million in the bank and now have to find the rest.
We don’t seem to know how lucky we are.

Sorry wasn’t clear. I’ve seen the east stand trinity plans and they are very impressive indeed.
I was talking about the cougars plans just for some sort of comparison.
Anyway, I’m happy with what we have and I’m sure it will transform the club on and off the field. I even firmly believe that it will be the springboard for further development at the stadium likely on the west terrace next.

I dont think £2m will get anywhere near the cost of that stand for Keighley....
Going back 10 years to when my hometown team - Torquay United - opened our new stand, in honour of Paul Bristow who bankrolled the club for a few years and sadly passed away before it was built - that cost £2m and that is basically a stand with no corperate facilities etc. in it.
So I think they may need a bit more brass....
