after what seems an age since the semi final win its nearly here has cas academy yr7 boys get there dream final at wembley on saturday.

all 20 players are fit and raring to go and the final 17 gets selected on weds before the team set off for wembley on fri morning before a final training session in london on friday night.

Very best of luck to the Cas lads - I can't help feeling a bit bitter about how Ossett were dumped out of the comp, but that won't stop me wishing Cas all the best.

I wonder if any of the game will be on the telly?

the bbc are filming and commentating on the game has we get a dvd of the game afterwards. it is rumoured the game will be shown via the red button.

Tournament tomorrow at Cas Panthers. Stanley under 7s looking to build on a good showing in the under 8s tournament at Cas Tigers a couple of weeks back.

despite losing the national cup final 22-24 a great weekend was had down in london.

i think its fair to say the cas lads never got started and found themselves trailing 16-0 without even touching the ball but they found the guts to get back within 2 points at ht.the second half was end to end and it could have gone either way but it was just one of those games when the little things never fell for us.

the lads not suprisingly were heartbroken at the end of the game but they will be stronger for the experiance and when the dust has settled they will be very proud of what they achieved over the last 12 months.

Back to league action today after the summer break - Spartans U13's put in a fantastic performance to draw 28 all with the unbeaten league leaders Brighouse Rangers.

A tough, gutsy game played hard and fast by both sides, with a Wigan scout watching on.

Stanley u12's v Crigg was called off as Stanley didn't have enough players .... been a right rip-roaring success so far this summer season !
Rumour also going round that the play offs might be cancelled now because the barla cup will start in October !

a modest 20-0 win to Stanley Rangers under 14s over Dewsbury Moor and not with controversy,
with ongoing work to their main pitch the lads had to play on the second pitch that was in dire need of cutting but all the players got on with the job in hand

next game Oulton Raiders away

Spartans U13's put Dewsbury Moor to the sword on Saturday, 28-6.

A very clinical first half by the Spartans with some lovely flowing rugby - got a bit scrappy in the second, but a great win.

Oulton Raiders 16 Stanley Rangers 28, Having taken a two try converted lead Stanley was on the attack for a third when Oulton broke away to claw one back, at h/t it was 6-12.Oulton then leveled after the break but couldn't over take them.
there was some crunching tackles in where one Oulton player took the blunt on his arm and was leaving for the hospital when the lads had got to the club house.

well I think that all about seals the League now with 4 games to go level on points with Oulton and two games in hand the lads hold an health position.

Stanley Rangers 32 Normanton knights 12

In another must win game Stanley found the first half hard going, with the slope and the following wind they couldn't capitalise on that adavantage to make the first half score greater. With an injury to one of key forward players they only managed to cross the line twice, 12-6 at h/t.
The second half proved that playing up isn't a problem and with time start to make ground on Normy to finish worthy winners.

well done to the lads they now take on Outon Raiders next week at home to seal the title. k.o. should be 11-30

Sandal Spartans U13's put Birstall Vic to the sword yesterday, 52-12; some fantastic, flowing rugby from the Spartans, great to watch.

Cas Panthers U12's head to mighty Crigg on Saturday morning with a depleated squad on the back of several loses. Looks like it will be a massive uphill task against a quality unbeaten side

Hope more players turn up than have trained the last couple of weeks or it will be lambs to the slaughter.

Another big win this morning - 58-10 vs Cas Lock Lane; funny old game, our lads didn't play their best but still got the result.

Well the crigg v panthers 12s game finished 26-4 in favour of crigg.a great advert for the junior game with two teams having a real dig at one another.

From the panthers point of view it was another improved effort and on this showing it won't be long until they are on the winning trail.

and although the players made a good advert for the game, that sadly wasn't the case elsewhere on/around the pitch

The behaviour of some spectators is a blight on jr RL; we've almost lost 3 players this season, because their parents couldn't tolerate the level of verbal abuse that was coming from the sideline. I'm not sure what the answer is.

Five tries,three goals 26 not sure what you are referring to regards poor behaviour,yes it was a very aggressive game but it was hard and fair until a bit of biff at the end of the match to say anything other gives the wrong impression to those who didn't attend the game.
