| Quote ="Spookisback"I can’t totally accept the point … Trinity have almost 46,000 followers on Twitter alone… every one of those is a potential… fan who hasn’t attended… purchaser of membership … merchandise or investor.
In this day and age there is just as much ( if not more) commercial potential on line as in person (and it’s huge on the IMG agenda)
Halifax made more than 3x more posts during the game… and far more detailed.. and quicker
To those at the game it matters not… to the 43,000 who were not outs a missed opportunity … not whinging but attempting to make a strong point.
Anyhoo… looks like a decent run out'"
It’s a point and reasonable enough. Just asking you to accept that there are reasons and that the club are aware of some shortcomings.
However with a tiny staff and a million non RL issues to attend to its a stretch.
Normal service will be resumed as they say.

| Vastman has become the apologist for the status quo. If the club is ever going to progress they need to move with the times. Football clubs make a fortune from fans who never go to games through clever marketing of merchandise and media. Increasing crowds would be great but its not the only way a club acan be successful on and off the field.

I think 'apologist' is unnecessarily strong... he's working hard as a volunteer ATM and as such will get to see where things are stretched...
my point is about commercial activity in the 21st century... its not like the 1970s and we have generations whose primary experience of life is on their social media apps (even Twitter and Facebook are passé to most of the younger generation)... the market place moves so quickly

He did give valid reasons and said that it would be rectified in time...
If it bothers you that much, get in touch with the club and offer [iyour[/i services...
I'm sure they'd be delighted and greatly received.

| No need for the comment about Vastman, and in terms of his comment, I thought things went pretty smoothly today which I'm sure took a lot of work.
However, marketing should always be ringfenced resource in a business. Saying everyone is concentrating on something else is a case of bad prioritisation.
On match day, of course safety and organising the crowd is priority but the other 6 days need someone marketing. Social media is low hanging fruit.

| Back to the game. I left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the shoreline but thought it was solid enough.
The whole first half we didn’t look troubled and for most of it looked in to not get out of second gear.
The second half despite having some younger and fringe lads on I was a little didsapointed with ball control. It will have been a good experience for the young lads.
I don’t know whether discipline is an issue but the penalty count was heavy against us. That coupled with a few poor turnovers from short kick offs or knock ons out us under undue pressure especially that second half.
Thought Proctor went well.
Atoni showed he can put in some good minutes and made plenty of yardage. I think I prefer him off the bench but like the look of him.
All 3 halves contributed well and Mash had a tough choice there. Smith for me looks like a real find. Good hands, good short kicking game and the lad can score some try’s.
Thought Lineham went well and was good of him to pass a try to Lyne.
Looking forward to seeing Tanginoa and Hall hopefully vs Fev.
Oh, thought Battye looked good again. 2 good games from him and he’s running some great lines. That line he ran for his try was a beauty.

No I don’t need to use multiple forum names like some. If I post I do so under my one login, I know that some struggle with those that have a different opinion but the forum is not yet the sole domain of one specific point of view despite what some try to make it.

Would those be football clubs whose budgets run into hundreds of millions of pounds a year?
Would it be football teams whose revenue even three divisions down generally dwarfs Trinity’s?
Let’s be realistic here, we are a club who currently at a guess turnover less than 3 million a year. I know for a fact that the Kingfisher Chippie at Durkar has a similar turnover.
So yes we are stretched even before we take the rebuild into account.
As I say the club are aware of the shortfalls but surely you can see now is not the ideal time to tinker.
Social media done on an industrial level is not as easy as some suggest. It needs doing properly and have a plan. That’s my point. At the moment there simply isn’t the time to sit down and do that.
Surely it’s better to wait a while longer until all the modern facility are in place and do it properly?
Yes you can run social media from a bedroom for some products, but not imho for one as diverse as a RL club.
It’s a shame as we were doing well up until a year ago but sometimes events overwhelm. Just remember though how hard people worked during Covid on social media to keep you all in the loop. There is no lack of effort it’s just plain difficult at the moment.
Might be easier now the players are back at BV, we shall see.

I can see why away fans call BV the worst ground in the league. What a miserable existence it was stood there yesterday. Never again. If I go to the Fev game I will be trying to get in the seats in front of the flats.
And when Hull come, well good luck. They travel well, even for friendlies.
I'd even consider paying for a feed with all the posh folk but even that is sold out for the Fev game.

However special praise for the domestic signing. Morgan’s Smith, what a great little player he looks. A real pukka SH from the old school, Lino has some competition there!
Finally Lineham. Right from the start of last season he looked like some silly hooray Henry prattling about on the wing. Today he looked like a RL winger getting on with his job. The pass to Reece was class and genuine I felt.'"
Morgan Smith will stand out this year. He will get a lot of MoS points I believe. I for one am quite excited about watching him every week.

I stood on the west terrace for years until moving to the North Stand and it never seemed that bad tbh. However yesterday I have to agree it felt pretty dire. Maybe it was the general state of the ground, everywhere you looked was a mess and this just added to it.
Nobody and I mean nobody at the club would argue about the viewing angles on the West stand. You only have to look over at the new terracing on the North to realise how unacceptable they are to modern standards.
I know it's the first thing the club will do on phase two when the cash becomes available, however fans have to accept that what goes on the ground directly affects the player budget, there is simply no way around that unless somebody gives us the cash to do it.

This was the worst thing for me - I'm not the tallest bloke in the world, and I must admit I felt about 10 years old again, plus my kids constantly wanted to get on the barrier and then we still couldn't see.
Looking forward to getting back in the North Stand. Thoughts and prayers with away fans...

They weren't great then but now they are tragic, but the good thing is that the main reason they now look so bad is because whats opposite will look so darn good. Bit like when you buy a new carpet and you suddenly realise how crap your suit is

| is there any plans to have part of the northstand open for the Fev/hull games? or even the N/W corner?
I'd imagine the west terrace will be pretty cramped if not, it felt cramped and the pictures backed it up that some posted. Fev and Hull will attract bigger crowds as well I'd imagine.

| For anyone not happy with the viewing area from the Western Terrace. I can offer you a discounted hospitality ticket for £35 per person for the Hull FC game. I have posted this on the RWBA Group but happy to offer to others on here who aren't a member. Normal ground entry will be £17 for the Hull game so for an extra £18 you will get a two course meal, tea & coffee, player interviews before and after the game and a better viewing area of the game than the Western Terrace.
If you are interested then message me on Facebook or on here and I will sort for you.

My guess in no but perhaps for the Hull game?
I actually don't think it will be the build as much as getting a safety certificate, that's my fear.

I know the whole stand wont be ready for the 29th but it seems thqt only 3 sections need adding to the terrace and then I guess the backing would need sorting for the safety and the crush barriers installed, seems a lot to do as I type this out.
Just wasn't sure if there was plans to open the area in front of the screen

I don't know tbh as I say I'm guessing. I'd assume the barriers are straight forward, possibly with the fixings already in place. Looked to me like two sections to go. It's like a lot of things in construction, nothing seems to happen for an age then it all happens at once.
Can't see any reason why the front section couldn't be opened, although it won't get fully repaired and tidied until the upper section is complete.
But all speculation on my part.
