If its a buyout then they will TUPE over and it will class as a continuation of employment. Their contracts will remain valid whether a newco is formed or not. Only if the Bulls are liquidated without a buyer would they become free agents.

| When Wakefield were going through their troubles last year I was fully in support of any help for them I even bought a shirt! The Bradford case does annoy me a little (lot) and I agree with you guys, what support did your team get. Nobody (rfl) bent over backwards did they. What about the championship clubs who are gearing up for a chance to join superleague, they certainly will not be happy. Having said all that I feel for the genuine Bulls fans.

www.superleague.co.uk/article/25 ... ssence-for
One of the many things that concern me is this mention of the consortium seeking RFL assurance that Bradford would remain in Super League next season. When Parkin and Glover asked for such assurances (admittedly during a franchise application process) the RFL flatly refused to give any such assurance. If the consortium go ahead and buy having obtained such assurance then it will infuriate me more than any other comparison between the two administrations.
With good future management I'm sure Bradford can be run as a profitable business with realistically priced tickets/season tickets, commercial outlets and a wage bill consistent with performance on the field.
The areas of Odsal ownership and Super League guarantees is a big area of debate.
I do recall the RFL offering to pay our wages in February last year so the £200k advance is similar. Sadly our administrator sold players which BG has not done. Odd really when he is strapped for cash.

| If the administrator requires £200000 to pay the players wages for July that equates to £2400000 annual salaries.
Will newco or oldco have to pay the fine for breaching salary cap?

The salaries are for both playing and admin staff. I don't think admin staff are included in the salary cap so its not a breach.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that =#FF0000the administrator in Bradford's case has been paid up front, whereas ours was required to recoup his own fees from the sale of assets i.e players - not sure if I've dreamt that or if it's actually the case.
Either way, the wages are due on Friday and any business man worth his salt wouldn't take on that liability if he didn't have to; it will be interesting to see how that bill is covered.'"
Assuming this to be correct then who's paid this upfront?

| Bored with the whole thing now, some on the Bradford forum still seem to maintain this "too big to fail" and superleague needs us mentality, and along with the expectation that under no circumstances should they have to part with any players it's becoming increasingly difficult to maintain any sympathy.I do however believe that this so called ABC consortium may have overestimated there strength with regards to the demands it is seeking from the RFL, such as the lease for Odsal must be sold to them and superleague status must be assured. The initial reaction from the RFL was quite measured, and specifically asked with regards to the lease, ok you want the lease but what are you going to do with it and where does Valley Parade fit in to your plans ? I just have a feeling that were the RFL seen to go too far in its asisstance in this whole sorry affair, the massive amount of publicity already generated and the nature of any revelations which may or may not surface during the inevitable enquiry might just be a touch too unsavoury, even for the RFL.

Just listened to another 15 mins of 'poor Bradford' on Boots n All. Starting to wear thin now. We didn't get 1% of the coverage, sympathy and support that Bradford are getting. RFL also wouldn't guarantee SL for Wakefield, interesting if they guarantee it to Bradford.

Yep it's all very boring now. Did we expect any different from the RFL ? It just confirms what they are all about, as if we didn't already know.

| The RFL bought the Odsal to keep it out of the hands of predatory property developers.
The proposed consortium want the transfer of the lease to them as a pre-condition. The consortium includes property developers. The RFL are said to be concerned about why they want the lease.
So what on earth do they do now? Hang onto the lease to see the Bulls go under, or sell the lease to predatory property developers? Interesting.

| From what I can gather, the lease is worth about £1.2m. The ABC consortium want the lease handed over to cover projected losses over the next couple of years. So if the RFL do that they are in effect letting the club have the ground ownership and obviously no rent to pay with the big plus of a valuable asset.
As Glover stated in his radio interview, the rent we pay is a massive mill stone around our neck. Maybe we should be supported in such a way that we could then have the luxury of spending up to full cap? Of course in all fairness I would never expect that to happen. In comparison it looks like Glover has been ripped off big time in purchasing us if ABC demands are met. Glover had no Guarantee of SL (most probably Championship rugby) and no asset of a ground given over. The whole thing looks very dodgy to me.

| If the coaching and backroom staff have been made redundant why haven't any of the players been sold to cover the losses? Why did we lose our best players in the first week of admin yet the RFL are willing to stump up the wages of the Bradford players? Probably covering old ground here but it stinks basically.

| I agree with Pudsey Cat. Im not knocking Bradford and are sympathetic to their plight but what the RFL are doing stinks. Not only wakefield but the RFL have done the dirty on quite a few clubs. They just talk the talk but only walk with the 'Big' clubs. Time for some honest talking from the RFL ad get the game back on track. Clubs should be judged on all round merit, which is coincidently was the licencing process was supposed to do.

I dont think that The RFL could sell the lease to any property developers, surely it would revert to Bradford council and they would have to ratify selling Odsal for development.
The consortium do appear to be looking at commercial opportunities at Odsal, rather than rugby matters and whilst i'm all for maximising revenue streams, SL seems a distant second compared to the commercial aspects.
