But who's to say that means he's trouble in the dressing room? He could be one of the most popular guys in there, just because he swears at camera's and possibly nails snatch whilst his wife is pregnant doesn't then mean he is a bad influence in the dressing room. Really turd players who seemiongly keep their noses clean could equally be a bad influence in the dressing room and we'd ever know it

IMHO this is a thread going nowhere.

I beg to differ - it's going to one of two places:

1. Gleeson signs for someone else and the thread is locked.

2. Gleeson signs for us, and a discussion about the relative merits of that signing ensues.

I think we should make every effort to sign him up if we think we have any hope of staying up this year.

At the end of the day hes a seasoned pro (a talented one at that) and we dont have many of them at the moment.

John Kears interview with the YEP (see other thread) would smack as hollow if we don't at least bid for Gleeson.

Mainly because getting the sonsorship papers through is only the first step. See John Kears interview in the YEP on the other thread. Realistically with the border control agency as they are it could be August/September before we could get anyone over anyway.

I was thinking the same thing; if the problem is that quality players aren't available, when they are, we should be moving mountains to get them here. Otherwise, as you say, Mr Kears words become just rhetoric.

It's a brilliant book is Longs! I was in tears reading the jolly boys bike ride which ended up him breaking into someones house by accident.

I felt the book was an embarrasment to him and the game, I bet Basil rates him highly now! I suppose the next one will be about rugby league but I wont be topping up his pension.

Sportinglife suggest we may be looking at bringing him in until the end of the season, we have plenty of space under the cap which Hull do not.

Agent is touting him around the NRL sides with a view to playing down under next year.

Would make sense we could accommodate him short term if he gets an NRL for next year. The thing that may go against him is that they don't usually like players with a dodgy back ground in their league so the ARL might not even let a team register him in theory.

Pretty long contract for a player in their 30's with a question mark over the conduct.
