| Also with his bankruptcy he would not be wanting to sign a new big money contract would he.
He will be discharged from it in 12 months or an application can even be made after 6 months to be discharged from his bankruptcy.

Exactly and it has no relevance to this move - which has been on the cards for at least a year him going to hudds!
I think people need to remember (now I have seen a few anti comments on the board) what he has done for us and also now the money he would have made us, he is a quality player and will be sorely missed taking command of the game!

aren't they the main sponsor?
DB has been a good player for us, although I would have liked he to stay longer. If he is in financial dire straits that has to be his priority, regardless of which club he actually wants to play for, he needs to sort that out first and I don't blame him for taking the opportunity. How much do I want us to beat
Shudds next we meet

| this absolute rubbish, brough has wanted out ever since the world cup when scotland manager(hudds ceo) tapped him up. I have no problem with brough leaving players come and go, but to try an make out he did not want to leave is a joke. he was offered the best contract we have ever offered to any player. Brough performance agains hudds begs the question, did he perform like thar because he had already signed. rumour is he signed a 4.5 year contract and if he was'nt released it would have just been a four year contract. this just makes a joke of people on here that have suggested he captain material, he is selfish and negativ influence as snn on friday night with his attitude toward morton, which he has done loads of times. thanks and good by danny.
Quote ="knotlaknight"Wakefield have had no approach from the RFL for John Kear and would not welcome any such deal. Its fair to say John is a very popular figure at the WTW and to lose John as the Wildcats are enjoying a succesful start to the Engage Super League is pure speculation and unfounded. I understand why John would be linked with such a position because we all know that Johns experience in the game is very hard to find especially even more so the fact that he's English and the RFL announcing there wish to appoint an home grown coach.
John continues to work hard for the Wildcats and all was on display at New Craven Park on Friday evening and with further improvements to made to the Wildcats personnal within the next 3-5 days i can rest assure all Wakefield fans Johns ambitions remain truly to the wildcats.
To my knowing there only 1 job that John would ever possibly leave the Wildcats for and I can assure you its not England but a job within a club that remains close to his heart and the Club he supported as man and boy.
Also may I add Danny Brough has no ambition to leave Wakefield or Wakefield to grant permission to any SL Club, chairman,CEO'S or agents in taking Danny away from the Club. The club are in discussions with Danny about a contact extension and hope to announce good news on the subject with the coming months'"

| If Brough has gone which seems likely, then we should be thanking him for the contributions' he made to the team and wishing him well for the future and not raking up his private life. If he does not owe the club money then we should not be talking about his financial arrangements. they belong to him and him alone, anything else stinks of sour grapes. Let it go we are better than that, or we should be.

Danny's a strange beast, always has been and always will be, this was on the cards from day one and the guy will never settle or be happy BUT i 90% agree chissitt, private life and his family are not for RLFANS but i'll not wish him well for the future, no problem with him as a player and what he's done on the pitch, he's just let himself down off it.

i will reserve judgment on this and wait and see his first interview in the sun ,
i hope the giants have a very good rehabilitation clinic for people who like a after match drink .
to be fair to danny on the pitch in the main hes been great although i think i mentioned to you al he seems a little wimpish when hes got a knock unlike pocket rocket sam .
the dolls can breath a sigh of relief and no longer will have to guard their mini bus 24/7

| Whilst people clearly need to be careful in discussing his financial situation, it is in the public domain and so it is perfectly valid to make people aware of this, particularly if it has ever had an impact on either his professional performance, or bearing on his stay at the club.

| I agree with the view of someone on here that it seems like he has been in the process of leaving the club for as long as he's been at it, and so, as fans, people are entitled to be miffed. I agree also that he has a duty to look after himself and his family.
And so I thank him for some great rugby at the club, and I look forward to giving him grief the next time he's at Belle Vue.

Think it was done to stop 20 pages of slagging the club/ Ted off for letting Brough go, being accused of cashing in , not caring, taking all money for himself ....you know all the usual stuff from the usual suspects. If It eventually happens I will be sorry to see him go he proved in the Leeds game his class and how he can win games for us. Good luck Danny hope you do get your life sorted.

| Thanks Danny for being a great player for us and creating some spectacular rugby at times. Good luck at hudds.
I am really glad we got something for him (if true) as we were running out of time in that one.

Just what I was thinking.
I rate Danny and would be sad to see him go, but as the first 10 in the second half against HKR showed, we can play well without him.

I'll be very sad should/when he leaves. Brough is mardy, does lose the plot, does have a go at people but that is the price you pay to have such a talented player in your team. He can win games at his best, and has at every club he's been at.
Loyalty is a strange concept - I think I'd rather have 2/3 years of a Brough than 10 years on a player who maybe isn't at the same level.
Still, when people talk of 'players after money' and such, Wally Lewis is still a hero to many, yet would he really have played for 'that' Wakefield side had the money not been there?

I'm sure Trinity would make sure any players offered in any potential deal we're not involved in any alleged incidents earlier this year.
