Don't really do friendlies, but the team will take great heart from this result.
It should keep our dear neighbours quiet for a bit, although they will be quick to remind us it was just a friendly I'm sure.
Probably the same ones who were bigging up their win over Shudds last week!!!

Excellent result, poor attendance though- I saw on another thread that we had sold 5000 tickets, perhaps they are season tickets!

Destroyed cas bar the 2 trys at end. Could have had a couple more with luck.

All players looked fit and ready for SL.

I was incredibly surprised how unfit and poor some of the cas ranks were.

T.Smith gave rangi a master class, passing was very sharp indeed. John showed good touches.

Very accomplished all round really.

After losing 36-18 to KR they may want him back!!!!
Just short of 14,000 there, amazing attendence for a "friendly" Rovers I'm sure, took at least 20,000!!!

Just in from the game, regardless of it being a friendly, you have to say with a completely new line up that was some performance. Combinations worked well, passing was crisp and quick, kicking game decent, backing up excellent and forwards drove it in well and made good yards. Dangerous out wide, half backs looked busy and interested, it all bodes well for the season ahead. Defence needs to tighten up a little I feel but on the whole I am very satisfied, was entertained and very much looking forward to rustling quite a few feathers. Washbrook given MOM, can't argue with that but honourable mentions to Aiton and Lauitiiti and young Trout caught my eye too. But really the whole team deserve a mention and that's the key for me, we looked like a team for the first time in a long time. Long may it continue.

Superb performance from our lads - dominated Cas in every department; before they start bleating about forwards by the way, remember that we were missing Wilkes and Raleigh.

Not just about the win and the amount we put past cas's first team, it was the manner of which we played, as different as we possibly could be over last season and we aint been that good since we had broughy on board.
Defensively I was very impressed, the amount of times we had 3 in the tackle with one round the legs to stop them making yards was incredible, also the creativeness and speed at which we were playing at was very refreshing to see, Aiton/John/Smith & trout were very impressive, Amor picking up where he left off last season with Kirmond looking like his double, then Mathers rubbing in some salt to cas's wounds was great with Washbrook deservedly picking up MOM all this with Frankie, Wilkes and Rayleigh to come in


I'm sure the cas massive will have plenty to say about mr allybellend but for me he had a pretty good game apart from missing a blatant knock on and the fact he warned cas about the high tackles and did nothing about stopping them doing more by sending someone off

Kicking is going to be a problem... Especially from the kicking tea.

Second half in particular I thought Smith really came into his own and was running at the line,dictating play, and creating opportunities. Up against a half who is the current man of steel, I thought he was very good today, as were many others. With most of the new overseas players coming from Cronulla it's a massive benefit that they've all played together before. Watching how Smith and Collis link up in particular is potentially devastating. They demonstrated today that they certainly know what each other is doing.

The big thing to get take from today is the potential. We have it and that for me is very exciting.

Yeah deffo a typical Cas thing. Mind you pit language from a pit area??? They'll be right at home on the spoil heaps at glasshoughton if they ever get there lol.

Definately true about the cas number 8, been informed by a cas fan it was emmitt. But it happened at wakey so will the rfl bother after all its only wakey in their eyes

Smith was outstanding today,his booming passes out wide split there defence,it's what we've been missing.support play all-round was awesome ,could go on forever praising the teams performance .thank you Trin for an enjoyable afternoon.
