Still is a perfect place for stadium. That was another wasted stadium opportunity and valuable time wasted by WMDC

That is absoutely shocking and anyone that votes this lot in again want their head testing. The quicker Box buggers off, the better the City of Wakefield will be.
As for Cas' ground, couldn't give a monkeys.

Noticed in the express the other week locals were moaning about housing been built on the college site where the stadium was due to be built. A stadium and 3G pitches would be brilliant for Wakefield park. Park for all, stadium for all.

But it won't be - nobody gives a damn, largely because they haven't got a clue about the community facilities aspect of the development; it has always been badged as a new stadium for WTW and that's how the majority of people see it - hence, they'll shrug and say 'hard luck Wakey - again.'

Not just the Wakey express, the national media should be kicking up a huge stink over this. WTW have been blatantly ripped off. Maybe negotiations are still at a delicate stage and people are holding back a little while ever there is some hope left.

Sadly this is spot on. Especially given some of the other issues in the area where childrens centres are closing left right and centre, the market hall being pulled down, the roads crumbling under the wheels etc, then Wakefield Trinity and its 3500-4000 regular fans getting a shiny new stadium will be way down the list of peoples priorities i'm afraid.

Give over and join the real world. You couldn't get a playing card between Tory and Labour core policies these days - that ship sailed years ago. The only difference is how efficiently they are carrying out policy - which in Labours case was diabolical leading to them leaving the country virtually bankrupt for the second time.
I'm a non religious - non political animal, I don't need anyone to tell me how to think. However I prefer Tories generally because they (the politicians) generally know what they are, self serving and greedy. Labour politicians and some supporters are the same but seem to take the moral high ground without any justification as far as I can tell. Box is one of these, what we need is someone who care for the city and not his own survival - whatever their politics. I can tell you now having met a rosette wearing Box a few times I can assure you that he had very little compassion about him as far as I could tell.

Well it's a forum, no one is beholden to you or owes you an answer.
FWIW and IMO I think the Council have never really thrown their full weight behind this development despite appearances. They're certainly not showing any urgency or concern now that things look like stalling and Peter Box's attitude towards it stinks

Spot on. Me and my mates used to use the College grove 5 a side football playing area for a fair few years and it was always packed down there. The extra facilites would be huge for the general population of Wakeield.

| I notice the Cas ground development is also badged up as a 'community stadium'. I guess this gives the council grounds to claim the district is getting new facilities and enables them to brush off anything to do with Newmarket.

I would expect that with the number of members posting such negative comments about the council and it's leader including our chairman the reasons would have more clear. The current complaint is that they don't appear to be showing any urgency but the delay is the fault of others. I am amazed that is all they can be blamed for when I have read such personal accusations of dishonesty and demands for their removal.

Well they can certainly be blamed for the embarrassing lack of sports facilities in the District, a situation that has prevailed for decades and has brought derision from Government institutes.
WMDC are guilty of leading many sports fans up the garden path with regard to the Thornes Park debacle. It is WMDCs planning department, as much as anyone, which has been conned by a less than transparent Developer.
Peter Box, as head of the WMDC, has a constitutional responsibility to do the right thing by Wakefield citizens and his inaction in the face of this dishonest action is nothing short of scandalous.
So Yes, if you want to see where blame can be attached to individuals from WMDC and WMDC itself then there it is.
