not going off one but this happened to me five yr ago,
I went to see my sister for the last time before she did of cancer and arrived late for work,
I had been troubled by it and had more than a few other late arrivals before hand, on that last day I told my manager to f right off when he confronted me,
I got a written warning for the event, my employer understood my situation but rules was rules and I had to take the punishment on the chin (even tho they should of known it was out of character) I thought it was more than harsh but understood that needed to keep discipline,
this is a similar situation where there has been a breach of employment rules, harsh I know as we might of had a pint after playing our leisure sport, but this is professional and are payed to do as they are told,
when I was on site working I couldn't drink on the way back in the van

the worse bit it used to be in the breweries I went to and I love the stuff

yes your probably right , but i'm a wakey fan and i feel that he's taking the pi55 out of john kear , his team mates , the club and you and me .
but if he's more bothered about his £1600 this week than what's happened on the coach journey home and john kear, the club , the fans , then let's have a bucket collection for him and let's drive him up to barrow and wish him well in his future years bottling it against forwards who would have loved to be in his position and want to smash him every tackle

We had issues like this that cost Kear his job in 06

Personally mate, I feel that as I am not in reciept of full and official facts, I can only assume this was the right thing to do at the time.
The decision was not made with a match result in mind, so even with hindsight, I will say yes.

Was thinking about the legalities of this yesterday. The reality might be that you are not allowed to 'fine' someone as the contracts do not allow it. Maybe all you can do is suspend them without pay. This amounts to a fine in reality, but what you cannot do is say to someone "you're not getting paid next week but you're still working." The question is maybe was he right to take action over a breach of the rules? The answer has to be yes. That raises the question as to what the sanction is, and if that means a fine, that means not working, and so means not playing. If you think of it as a job situation, it makes it more understandable, and will be why all "fines" in sport are couched in terms of a weeks wages. It is really just a suspension without pay.

So what was the alternative? A written warning? Doesn't exactly send out a strong message.

So, because of the legalities (I suspect) JK had no option.

Always difficult on the back of a really bad performance but if it was the right thing to do before the game then has to be the right thing regardless of the result. What is more worrying is all the rumours surrounding our financial problems don't normally take any notice of them but seem to be adding up at the moment.

I agree that all the finanical stuff is unsettling and in the current climate if such problems exist, I cannot see any easy fix. However, I do believe that the club need to be more open about these things with us the fans.

Ted and JK have both in the media given the impression that there are no financial pressures and rubbishing a number of the rumours that have been doing the rounds. However, if any of these things ultimately turn out to be true, then this would surely have a detrimental effect on the relationship between fans and club, and I for one would find it difficult to trust the present management in anything they had to say in the future.

don't care whether they would have made a difference. imo , should ship them both out straight away. might be able to get shut of scully to hfc. might struggle a bit with brough. word is hudds wouldn't touch him with a barge pole for what he has been up to. but jk is bang right, and should have everyone's backing.
