The better finances is because we OWN our ground. If you read the license criteria it refers to finances over the last 3 years, the only change that was made was that a club couldnt be booted out of Super League for entering administration. The books prior to Mr Glovers purchase of the club will still be looked at, if they dont exist then there will be a black mark against the club.

Our franchise looks sounder without Ted, the RFL forced it, but we've all got what is best for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

We've been punished for administration already or are you suggesting that the RFL punish us again. Don't get too comfortable over finances either as a number of clubs finances aren't the strongest even if they havnt been into administration and the evaluation of finance will look much deeper.

Are we conveniently ignoring the crowd troubles that Cas have earned a bit if a reputation for?

Whether it's marginal or not, we still have bigger crowds. The only time you've had bigger attendances than us was our 2nd stint in NL1 in 2007. 1 season out of the past 10. Not good for a city side?

Young players - granted yours won the academy Grand Final but how many of those have since left, moved elsewhere and how many are in your first team out of choice, not through the fact your finances were poor pre-Glover's take over.

Finances - you have an owner who is rich. So do many other clubs. I'm sure profitability and financial performance are key indicators.

Punished for administration but they'll still take into accounts your financial performance over the past few years as it's a good marker of how much income/expenditure the club has had. Like Widnes, the next three years will give you a chance to improve on that, whether in SL or NL, and give a better indicator of where you're at for 2015 licences.

Oh I see, the RFL will be judging it on how many England Academy players each clubs got!


On the other hand they might look at the clubs recent history

Academy champions two years ago

Murphy, Blaymire, Atkins, Ferguson, Pitts, George, Wildie, Morton, Gledhill, Anakin, Trout, Griffin, Spiers, Davey, Southernwood all players who've come through and been given a shot at 1st team football at Wakefield.

Dotted round Super League and the Championship there's Wakefield Academy produced players like Mason, Snitch, Handforth, Wood, Spicer, and many others

Not to mention current full England internationals like Ellis, Griffin, Atkins & Westwood with Brough ready to join them later this year.

Even some of Cadtlefords best youngsters were given their first taste of pro rugby at Wakefield.
