The Labour Party under Corbyn are not radical by any measure - and what he's proposing is a tried and tested model of Democratic Socialism, which is very successful in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Canada, Ireland and others. Portraying it in any other way, is either deliberate misinformation, or a direct lift from a Daily Mail headline.
Interestingly, the stuff that really exercises the establishment - renationalising public utilities - has massive support among the electorate, regardless of which party they support. Go figure!'"
Must be an accidental oversight on your part but you missed out Corbyns glowing support of how Venezuela was being run. And now they're either starving or eating they're pets with inflation running at a zillion percent.
And yes he has supported terrorists in the past that is undeniable. But as they say one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter.

| Wotsupcas, you have been brainwashed by the right wing media, who are owned by billionaires, who are scared about having to pay their fair share of tax, under a Corbyn led Labour government. But don’t worry, you’re not the only one. Have a read of Labours manifesto and tell me how many of their policies you disagree with. Or, just carry on believing the least trusted media in Europe, it’s up to you.

| Without trawling through every post so far in this thread. I will just make my small contribution to the discussion.
How may of that 66% vote to leave did so on the FALSE promise of £350 million for the NHS each month and zero immigration. Total lies fabricated by Johnson and his mates. anyone voting Conservative is basically saying that they don't want a NHS; they are happy with zero hour contracts; they think paying for university education is a good thing, and a million other reasons. The fairest outcome to the whole Brexit issue is another referendum, but this time give the people the TRUTH before they vote.

As a leaver I’m happy for another vote, as long as there is an option for a clean break brexit now we all know the facts. Would you agree to that option.

Nothing personal chief, my response would have been the same irrespective of who you were sticking up for as I don't have a favourite, it's just that earlier in the thread yours was the most critical and personal, not sure why people get so upset against others with a different view, does not matter who you vote for they're all liars and only out for themselves, good luck with the frustration trying to put your pov across.

I wanted reduced immigration and stop any of our monies leaving these shores but I do live in the real world and know that they all talk lies, but I would tend listen to someone who said that they would try than someone who said no.

You disappoint me BLM. From what I've gleaned from your posts on here and your heritage I thought you would be a Labour supporter for Life, a true Socialist. As for Jeremy Corbin, he's the nearest thing we've got to the original ethos of the Labour party. In an ideal world we would have 650 Dennis Skinners sat in those comfy leather seats of Westminster. Men of honour with feelings for their fellow men. Creagh, Cooper et al are not socialists. I'm just thankful that Trickett is my MP.
Please think again.

| Whether Mary Creagh wants to remain or not does not matter. labour's policy is for the country to get a say on remain or leaving with the deal that has been negotiated with the EU. As far as I'm concerned that is sensible. Others may disagree. The electorate should base their vote on the respective party manifestos and by looking at which ones they would prefer.
The positives for Labour is that purdah will be in place and the media will actually have to start reporting fairly as opposed to reflecting the views of the billionaire interests that they represent. The Conservatives have been in power nine years and our society is fractured - both in terms of public services and brexit. Anyone who thinks "getting it done" either which way will mean everything will just disappear is going to be in for a surprise. Half the country is going to resent the other half. The only party to blame is the Conservatives. It's laughable that they could accuse Labour of being the reason the country is struggling - that the NHS is crumbling, there's been a rise in child poverty and homelessness and wage stagnation etc. That's the whole reason the Conservatives can never criticise Labour policies just shout soundbites about "MAGIC MUNI TREEZ" (costed manifesto - as opposed to the Conservatives who can't beb bothered telling the public how they'd pay for theirs) and "DO YER TIE UP" and my personal daily mail favourite "TERRORIST JEW-HATING SYMPATHISER". Absolutely nowt to do with policy 'cos they know in that game they'd get soundly beat.
The only thing I'm going to say on this thread 'cos I can see this one getting closed at some point

| Immigration and money going overseas are not the reasons for this country’s ills. The tory party cutting everything back to the bare bones are responsible, giving the country’s money to their rich mates to store in offshore accounts to avoid tax, rather than investing in public services that we, the working class, rely on. The media won’t tell us the truth cos they are one of the main culprits of hoarding ‘our’ money overseas.

Sorry for that Redscat, but it highlights my point, that if I think like this having what I’ve had to fight for during my working life then I’m afraid it must be a far easier decision for others. I think it’s a age thing meaning that what I feel is important at my age doesn’t register with voters much younger. Since fighting for mine and others jobs in 84/85 , getting arrested and so on, to get very little backing from the so called other unions I have very little sympathy for what happens when they were warned. It won’t effect me attitude by other industries especially the steel but low and behold . As you might have guessed 35 years on, it still cuts deep. My history lesson over, sorry

| Also, the people are never just going to be handed "the truth". It has to be sought. Which is why a majority of the electorate don't have a clue. If people think watching the 6 o'clock punch and judy show and reading a few articles ina newspaper/BBC News website is enough to educate them to the point of being able to make anywhere near an informed decision then, well, may as well vote with our eyes closed as a nation.

Why has everybody who disagrees with Corbyn been brainwashed by somebody. Its a lazy argument. I might as well say you've been brainwashed by the left wing media. I'm old enough and wise enough to form my own opinion thanks.
You do know that the higher the tax rate the lower the tax revenue is, don't you? Corbyn would turn us into Venezuela mk2. His manifesto will be a wishlist for a unicorn country which could never happen in practice

| I'll be amazed if I see anyone from the current inhabitants of parliament doorstepping or photo opping at Belle Vue.
I mean, who would want to put themselves through that.
I'm afraid the game is up, we know that, they know that and that is pretty much why they don't want a GE.
It will be all about Brexit
There is no "deal" to be had so we're left with the only other option.
Nobody in parliament wants a clean break Brexit, including Boris so...its going to be carnage for Labour, BP will win a few seats, Boris may well get a majority and we'll muddle along some more implementing his abysmal deal.
Photo opping and doorstepping doesn't seem likely to be a fruitful investment of time and energy, but they've only got themselves to blame for that.

We now pay many hidden taxes on plastic bags, sugary drinks under the guise of health or the environment but who receives the money plus despite promises to the contrary who increased vat to 20% almost immediately upon entering.

| There’s nothing wrong in Venezuela, just that trump wanted to put his own guy in charge, in order to get his hands on their oil. That’s why the people their fought against it. Not that you’d know this, it takes critical thinking and research. All Labours policies are fully funded. Our taxes would not rise, the richest would have to start paying their fair share of tax, and that’s why they smear Corbyn with lies. Watch these smears ramp up now a general election is coming.

I regard myself as a socialist but Diane Abbot does not portray the Labour party well IMO. There are much better front people and better orators than her.
She did not come across well in the last election campaign.
