Can’t say I recall seeing him play, but if we’re being honest any signing in that position was only ever going to be cover. He’s got plenty of first team experience and at an age where he’ll need to perform if he stands any chance of furthering his career in SL.

If its true its not the worse he will be coming to prove himself and that can only begoodforus...hope we announce some signings soon i need a pick me up currently really struggling with covid

Some of the tries he scored in the YouTube clips were similar to what Tommy Johnstone has scored for us. Out jumping the opposition to score in the corner and beating the opposition for pace along the touchline. He could turn out to be an astute signing, someone has been keeping an eye on him.

Supposedly more a centre than a winger but looks very accomplished out wide. Obviously, on these highlight videos, you see the best, his defence might be shocking but you'd assume the caching staff check that out.

I've watched a few highlights now.
You can't doubt he's got speed and try scoring ability.

To be fair Vastman, Tommy's defence is not the best and he's done OK for us.

Think you've missed the point a bit.

What I'm saying is that you rarely see defensive highlights on these videos, so we don't know if he can defend, I have no idea myself, he could be brilliant.

Also don't agree about TJ, sorry but I think his defence is fine, it's a bit of a myth built up IMHO, tall poppy syndrome. His defence is not what sets him apart obviously but it's always been fit for purpose.

Good luck to the lad and lets hope that he turns out to be the next Reece Lyne, another great signing from Hull.

If we're looking at home grown centres currently in the Championship, we could do a lot worse than Thomas Minns in my opinion. Contracted to fev so that will probably be a sticking point.

He's signed up with Newcastle

He's selling himself very short then. Fair play to Newcastle. Very much a punching above their weight signing that

Minns has had some bad injuries over the years though, and he didn't play for three years following his drugs ban and then breaking his foot twice, and he's also had other personal issues that have been well documented.

He was going ok for Fev, though nota guaranteed starter, when he broke his leg in July.

I don't think he's selling himself at all short going to Newcastle, who are now full time, and it wouldn't surprise me if Fev had decided against offering him a new contract anyway, or at least not one to compare with what Newcastle might have offered, given his injuries. He's a similar story to Brad Day who has also gone to Newcastlle after being plagued by injuries over the last couple of years.

Also worth remembering re the comments about Newcastle "punching above their weight" that they have the finances to go full-time and have made some eyecatching signings, such as Akuma Ta'ai this year and then Alex Foster from Cas for next year
