tbf i think kear carried the whole commentary team and truly think that this guy will never be out of work.
all of his calls are correct and in tune with the game.

Totally agree with you there, Muts. His knowledge of and enthusiasm for the game always shine through. He explains the important passages of play in the game in a way that really adds to your enjoyment. The kind of commentator who could keep you watching if Saints were playing London Scholars and winning 100-0 at half time. Quality job, Mr. Kear!

I just hope his current day job means he has other, more pressing commitments on cup final day.

French is poor but he has got a great commentary voice.

I don't mind Welshness (as long as they're not burning down my holiday cottage), but surely to God there must be someone else in Wales capable of making a better fist of a match commentary than this guy. He had star appeal when he retired from the game, but his time was up long ago, IMO.

Love the bones of the man but..... whilst I understand its his job to make it entertaining (a job he achieves) our very own JK has a tendency to over exagerate the sensational or excellent nature of the play.

i was away at weekend so didn't see games live. I woke up Monday expecting to see BBC breakfast sport talking about the games, they talked about allsorts but didn't even mention the RL (they mentioned rythmic gymnastics FFS), so thought maybe they were rubbish games....

then last night i watched them both and if they weren't worth talking about then RL never will be.

standard BBC garbage imo, just paying lip service to our game
