It was a disgraceful attendance. Do not know what rugby fans of Wakefield want. The team are playing as well as can be expected in the face of such adversity, only one defeat.

The club need to market matches alot better than the trailers at either end of the city and the odd poster round town.

It does not take a genius to work out that the attendance would be lower due to tv, one off promotional prices should have been offered to attract more fans.

Warrington fans should hold their heads in shame the amount of fans they brought.

Does the club get money above and beyond the annual money from Sky as football teams do ? I know when they covered the football conference clubs got arond 5k to cover the cost of losing fans who stay at home and watch it on tv.

At the end of the day though if you have sky and are paying anywhere in the region of £30-55 a month by not going last night pays a good portion of that months bill.

I think its unfair to be over critical of the club. We're moving forward on and off the field. Games on TV always have an impact on crowd attendence, the away support was awful and let's not forget the difficult and challenging financial times we're now living in.

Over 5K for a Friday night live game on Sky isn't that bad IMHO, it could have been a lot worse.

Yes the club are trying after years of mismanagement off the field. I just think we accept second best in the marketing department.

The club plays at the highest level of proffessional Rugby League in this country and we live in and around quite a large city therefore i think just over five thousand fans is a disgrace. I go back to my earlier point

There are probably a few thousand former Wakey fans who grew up watching the team put in painfully inept performances for three decades and just drifted away. If the team continues to perform as it has done over the past 4 games maybe, just maybe, some will start to come back.

Given that the game with Catalan is one of the poorest attended in a season it would be good if club could come up with some initiative/offer to entice them down to BV for this match.

give them a good reason to go and watch a game, they will find ten reasons why they shouldn't. If we loose our franchise because of poor
crowds then these very seem people will be the first to moan.

I think you can write these people off as nothing more than 'armchair experts' they will never return in serious numbers. The future for the club is the young generation and thats where we are targeting our marketing efforts. Just look around and see the number of young kids and teenagers
that are now going to the games, they are the future for the club not the negative old moaners.

We employ people who allegedly have qualifications / experience in marketing and business it should not be up to me or you !!!

but here are a few ideas
1. Kids for a quid with a paying adult.
2. Purchase so many tickets ie four home matches get one free.
3. More posters banners around town.
4. Players going round schools during the season free tickets/quids for a kid if they bring an adult.
5.Promoting matches in the media, radio newspapers.
6. Lower the admission prices

Plus there is no way they brought over a thousand !!!

I know we've had this discussion on here before but Friday night games are a nonsense in terms of maximising attendances. A lot of people just can't make it at that time (or don't want to be still driving home at midnight). And surely Friday night @ 8:00pm is not the best KO time if we want to attract the most youngsters. If we are targeting marketing at the younger age group (and I think we should) then a bit of joined up thinking is needed - no Friday games unless we have no choice because of SKY.

What was the wire upport like compared to us the previous week?pls tell me Salford had more there(it will cheer me up after tonight to think we took more to an away game then the mighty wire!!)

There will certainly be a lot more than what you brought. On reflection though I suppose 400 isnt that bad for the cr@p rugby your team is turning out.

Whilst not entirely agreeing with Fred, we're high up in the league, playing some great rugby and it's still early days in the league. Wouldn't say a season ticket offer marketed the right way encourage some of those who were on the ropes to purchase one after a highly encouraging start?
