You should know by now that we have an herd of scapegoats for some on here. It's strange how they can metamorphosize from player to scapegoat and back on a game by game basis but some have now lost that ability to ever lose the tag regardless of what they do. I think without a herd many on here would have little to contribute so even if we play well some must always be created.

Not been happy with what i've seen from Scruton but i'll give him chance to prove me wrong, if he's had a bit of a blip and has suffered though illness he'll hopefully bounce back.

Scruton has been disappointing so far but he may work better with an aggressive prop with him to get him going.
Anderson is a good straight up and down prop but neither him or Scruton have that bit of an edge to their play.
When Tautai is fit, pair him with one and have the other with Moore.

I have seen worse performances far too many times over the years. Wakefield have always been consistent at being inconsistent it goes with the territory. We have made quite a few changes and it takes time for these to fully understand what it is to play for Wakefield. They have nowhere to hide because we do not have the quality of players to be able to make things happen unless they do it as a team.

We now have two weeks off which should give the coaching team time to work and get them performing as a team. I think some are just using the current situation to push forward their own prejudices against certain members of the playing staff and coach. If we see no improvement then I guess his time will be limited.

Scruton is a quality forward that is not playing well but i'm confident he will come good soon enough.

This is the first time since the squad was completed that they have had chance to actually get together for more than 4 or 5 days without a game. Let us hope that our loss in the cup proves more benefitial than if we had got through.
To keep our band of pessimists happy the break also put increased pressure on the coach because he can no longer point to lack of preparation time. He will have nearly two weeks to work on his team selection in order to ascertain the best combinations using the players available.

Nick had a good game against Catalans but hasn't quite hit the straps since then. He didn't want to leave Bradford and only did as a last resort but that doesn't mean he doesn't want to give 100% here. I have seen him put some decent shots on in tackles putting his body on the line and attempted others that haven't quite come off. I'm sure he doesn't want to let himself down and will get back to his best. Wakefield gave him a chance after the troubles at Bradford and I'm sure he appreciates that. In addition you don't want to let your team mates down as well as yourself.

Aside from Nick I think all our forwards have been inconsistent this year apart from Ali. Surely they all cannot be happy with their performances. Considering our squad is the strongest in the forwards we have been disappointing. Honesty about this, hard work and camaraderie can fix this. You've not been good enough is different to you're not good enough. Nick and the rest of the forwards have the attributes to lay the platform with strong aggressive defence and tough, sensible, aggressive carries. They are good enough and hopefully whoever is chosen against Hull will be busting a gut, leading from the front and laying that platform. You are good enough!! Show us..

With all the Agar out threads, player threads etc one thread I'm surprised to see drop off the scale is fitness.. Are we winning enough tackles? Sticking in the tackle first time? Winning the ruck? Even dropped balls, lack of concentration and poor skill levels can be attributed to fitness! When your tired you lose concentration and when you lose concentration you make mistakes. People or players might say they are fit enough. Players may tell you whether they train more/harder here or at their previous clubs. Who knows, but with all the other Agar out threads etc I'm surprised the fitness thread died off and didn't bring about more debate!

I agree with the fitness point. It has been Wakefield's biggest downfall for years. But you could also argue that the dropped ball means more defending which tires them out. Any team is going to get tired no matter how fit, but maybe they don't come up with the errors we do, so we get tired quicker.

Why do people exaggerate when they don't need to.

I agree we look unfit this year and you have a point.

However the last two years we have looked a very fit and strong team as was regularly commented on on this very forum.

I'm happy seeing the good things that are happpening. You can have the other stuff.

Although we looked fitter last 2 seasons I still felt that our fitness let us down in some games. Especially against the top teams. Take the catalan game last season for example.
