Well it sounds like they may be still working through details, although it could just be that they wanted to let WE get the news out first!

I have to admit Rinaldi is quite a baffling one. He has spent the most recent part of his career in super league playing at hooker, so how does that help the half back situation? Unless of course JK is planning on reverting him back to his original position of scrum half. I hope he turns out to be what we need for right now, but if people except him to be another DB then it won't be long before a new scapegoat is born.

Or he is being courted by a few clubs and Wakefield think they have the strongest offer. Widnes are looking to sign a playmaker this week too.

If it is Rinaldi then in my opinion it is a good stopgap signing. He will do us a job for the rest of the season and give us another option in the halfs which is something that we are lacking.

He will probably play hooker. We have 2 issues - one is the lack of a dsitributor / organisor and the other is the quality of ball coming from acting half.

Sam is a great player, but is not noted for either quality.
BJ can distribute, but is better when allowed st second reciever.
Cooke can distribute, but not enough to organise the whole side.
Latu is a runner

JR will hopefully speed our play up by getting better quality ball out - allowing the others to play with a bit more time.

Good move IMO, but not the ultimate answer.

if he plays hooker then where is everyone gonna fit? unless latu is gonna be out of action for an extended period I am unsure as to the merit of the signing. Rinaldi himself can be ok but we now have 4 hookers and he will be keeping out Davey unless he is played at 7. If he isn't played at 7 then obst and latu will keep out davey. Strange imo

I think Latu is exactly the point. He is unavailable for now. We are having to play Morrison and Cooke at half back.
Surely the Rinaldi option is better than that.

For me, play Rinaldi at hooker and Obst at SH with Jeffries. Cooke fights for a place

Cooke to 13 for me.

Would think JK thought's are, BJ at 6, Sam/JR at 7 and JR/Davey at 9 with Leo missing at the mo. Needs the players to get BJ to second reciever with Cooke at 13 playing 1st/2nd reciever on the other side.

I meant he is not noted for either distribution or for good quality ball from acting half. He IS noted for elusive running, tackling massively above his weight and never giving up - and would be in the 17 every week, but he will not run the team!

Is this the guy we have looked at twice before.

When he was on loan with us last season he went well. Always gives 100% and his distribution is good.

Another depressing signing, Not impressed by any of the lads we've brought in since the start of the season - so its no suprise were struggling.

Doesn't exactly fill you with confidence though when he is currently playing in a semi pro league and couldnt break into his National side (a relatively very poor national side too) - even worse was the fact that a back row forward was chosen as a hooker when presumably Rinaldi was fit and available.

Still, lets hope he chips in for us and alls well in the end but its hard to get giddy about this for me.

Anybody know what Maxim Greseque and Syvan Houles are doing next week?

I don't suppose he would have been picked for France....but saying that, if they were French, how many others in our team would have been picked?!?!

He will do a good job for us in the short term to get us through BJ injury and TLL leave.
Speed of passing the ball to 1st receiver is a major flaw in our game at the moment. He will improve that, and that is good enough for me.

At least they have done something to resolve the situation. I'm happy with what they've done but I'm happier that they have done something!

And thats what we'll get from him, i think he'll suprise a few people.

Another uninspiring signing, I'm sure he will give 100% but from what I remember of him he was short of pace, which is something we are crying out for.
Damage limitation, right this season off now.

It buys us time and gives us options. We have 5 winnable games coming up, and if he can make the difference, he's well worth the gamble. What other options are there? Seriously?
